**FOR SALE** 2006 Ford Explorer XLT V6 4x4

This is a very reliable and well maintained Ford Explorer that's well under Kelley Blue Book- private party market value. I have detailed all of the information about the vehicle below. If you have any questions about anything please feel free to ask. I will give you true and accurate answers to all of your questions. I have given the most information I can so that I don't waste your time, please don't waste mine. If you have a legitimate offer I urge you to present it. Feel free to contact me anytime, thank you!

Kelley Blue Book - Private Party Value
             $11,000 - $11,500

Why am I selling?
-I recently received a great offer on a larger SUV from a family member and would benefit from the extra room. My great deal = a great deal for buyer!

History:
I purchased the Explorer in September of 2012, after returning home from Afghanistan.
I have upgraded the audio system by replacing all the stock speakers to Kicker DS65 3-Way Coaxial Speakers. In addition, I upgraded the stock CD Player to a touchscreen JVC KW-AV50 head unit. The head unit provides complete touchscreen functionality of your entire music library on your IPOD (or any USB supported MP3 player). The touchscreen displays folders the exact same way your IPOD does, so browsing music is very quick and efficient. I still have the stock CD player and can reinstall it if you wish.

Replaced parts:
-Blend door actuator (Controls the temperature for the A/C and Heater) The gears inside the replacement part are of a much better quality than Ford's stock actuator. A/C and heater work better than ever.
-Driver's side door latch was replaced in December and all other latches were checked.
-Audio System (explained above) CD Player and 4 Kicker 6.5" 3-Way speakers

MPG - City: 16 Highway: 20
(If you drive fuel conscious you can get 22mpg)
Excellent ride and handling characteristics for any SUV, spacious and quiet interior with user-friendly layout, standard stability control system and integrated rollover sensor.

FEATURES: A/C ice cold, Looks & drives great, Must see, Title in hand, Upgraded sound system, Very clean interior, Well maintained, New Battery, Third Row Seat, Side Air Bag(S), Power Driver, S Seat, CD Player, Air Conditioning, Driver Air Bag, Passenger'S Front Airbag, Driver Side Remote Mirror, Keyless Entry, Security System, Traction Control, Anti-Lock Braking System, Power Brakes, Power Door Locks, CD/AM/FM Stereo Radio, Alum/Alloy Wheels, Tilt Steering Wheel, Interval Wipers, Tinted Glass, Rear Window Wiper, Front Bucket Seats, Cloth Upholstery, Trailer Tow Package, Running Boards, Child-Proof Locks, Fold Down Rear Seat

AUTOCheck * Please check the free vehicle history that is provided to have reassurance about this 2006 Ford Explorer.

When I purchased the Explorer it had 71,000 miles on it. Currently the odometer reading is 80,600 miles. If you reviewed the AUTOCheck summary it shows the vehicle mileage was red flagged in October 2012, which explained the mileage was logged at around 50,000 miles. The only mileage recording that was conducted during that time, was done so by the DMV. There was obviously an issue somewhere in the documentation during the registration process.
*I can assure you the odometer is completely accurate and has not been tampered with.

Minor Damage & Repair:
The Explorer was backed into in a parking lot back in December. There was damage to the rear passenger side fender, tail light, and rear bumper. The car was driven away from the scene and there was no major or structural damage. All parts were professionally replaced and the vehicle is in perfect operating condition.

*Buyer assumes full responsibility for vehicle pickup and title transfer* I assure buyer that vehicle is in perfect operating condition!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

Ford bringing production F-150 to Detroit with Atlas styling and Alcoa blast shields

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

According to a report in Bloomberg, the 2015 Ford F-150 will indeed be showing up at the Detroit Auto Show next month. It will bring attitude with it, not only in the form of sheetmetal inspired by the Atlas concept (pictured) that appeared at the 2013 Detroit show but also in the Alcoa military blast shields among the display being used to showcase the ruggedness of aluminum.
There's been a lot of talk about the F-150 switching to aluminum body panels (although maintaining a steel frame), and for good reason. The lightweight body is expected to shed more than 700 pounds and greatly increase its highway mileage, but production-line issues and possible delays have been a major focus of attention concerning the best-selling vehicle in America for 32 years, meaning Ford has to get it right. F-150 is responsible for a massive portion of the company's global profits and it will come in a year when company profits are already predicted to decline because of new car launches.
When it comes to dings, the Bloomberg story says Ford wants Alcoa to supply some of the military-grade aluminum it uses for blast shields on battlefield vehicles to help it talk up the toughness of aluminum. Reading commentary on the many stories about the F-150 reveals there are many more little questions about the aluminum overhaul, like "How much will it cost to repair and insure?" and "How will companies hang their magnetic signs?" Answers should start coming in a couple of weeks.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.
