97  Ford Explorer Sport Utility. It has A V8 Engine that has 60K miles on it as Well as A Transmission that has 60k miles on it. Both were replaced last year by previous Owners.

Long story Short We bought the car 3 weeks ago, Runs Extremely well BUT within 2 days we found the Rack & pinion needed to be replaced. We though ok not bad $80 Fix & its an old car so it would have happened sooner or later right? Well To sum it up we removed the old rack & pinion bought a new one (which will be sold with the vehicle) and NOw we cant get the new part in.  Im a single mom and I dont have the money to hire a mechanic to finish fixing it so my loss your gain.

Once the parts in it will  be an excellent truck! Buy it to fix sell as parts or what ever I really dont care! I just need to sell this one so I can get a working car.

The interior is Torn up bad the old owners used it as a work truck but its all cosmetic. Oh and as of today the drivers door hinge broke (its like a $60 fix) my bf broke it while we were trying to push the car out of my parents garage. Idiot. And theres a Crack in the windshield Not bad or spidering though. And the exterior has its share of abuse (never been in an accident though)

Anyhow Lots of new parts under the hood, Engine Tranny, Serpentine belt, and more!

Im listing everything that Im aware of Cause it selling as Is. and I dont wanna be accused of lying about the vehicle!

The odomoter reads 220K but as far as we are aware that is only whats on the body.

Oh and it will need to be hauled away. It turns on and runs but it has no steering due to the rack and pinion being out!

the truck pictured is not mine but it looks identical

Any Questions Feel free to email me or call text 262-271-Zero6Eight7. I dont have to finish this auction. If you have a reasonable offer & will pick it up & pay cash ill end the auction early

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Wed, 07 May 2014

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

Ford Q1 profits dragged down by warranty costs

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

General Motors isn't the only Detroit automaker posting falling profits in the first quarter. Ford just released its Q1 2014 financial data, and it reported a net income of $989 million, down $622 million from Q1 2013. The drop is partially blamed on higher warranty and recall expenses than the company had anticipated.
Financially, Ford suffered a rough quarter almost across the board. Its pre-tax profit of $1.4 billion was also down $765 million from a year ago. Things were even worse in the North American market where operating profit fell significantly to $1.5 billion, down from $2.392 billion in Q1 2013. However, its global revenue ticked up slightly to $35.9 billion, from $35.6 billion in this period in 2013.
Ford admitted that it spent about $900 million on expenses that it hadn't planned for during this quarter. According to Reuters, the company paid about $400 million in additional warranty and recall costs in North America. The automaker didn't explain why the costs were so much higher than expected. However, in the last three months, Ford has had several recalls, including on the 2001-2004 Escape for rust, Explorer for its steering, Edge for its fuel line and others.
