98 Explorer Well-kept With All Maintenance Records!! on 2040-cars

Year:1998 Mileage:198000
Location:

Forked River, New Jersey, United States

Forked River, New Jersey, United States

Extremely well- maintained and cared for vehicle with extensive service records from previous owner and myself, its no joke,  I even have it’s original window sticker from Ford.

Perfect for a small to medium sized trailer as its equipped with a Class III hitch bolted to the FRAME as it’s NOT a unibody vehicle it’s actually a real truck, and also has a WORKING dual light port for both 7 pin and 4 pin trailer light harness connections.

I’m forced to sell this vehicle as I recently lost my job and am looking to outfit another vehicle with a snowplow to hopefully get some side work to help keep my house until I find another job. I can’t in good conscience see putting a blade on this truck and beating the hell out of it so I need to sell her and upgrade to a bigger truck suited to that kind of task.

Some of the options on this vehicle are as follows:

·         Drivers/Pass Airbags,  4-Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes, Side door guard beams, Height adjust seatbelts, Anti theft, Illuminated Entry, Child-Proof rear locks, Control Trac 4-Wheel Drive,  Electric Shift Transfer case, Rack and Pinion Steering, Independent Ft. Suspension, 4-Wheel disc Brakes, 4.0 EFI V6, Super Engine Cooling, Hvy Dty Shocks, 100Kmi tune up pkg, Trailer Tow Prep,  A/C, Am/Fm/Cass/CD, Pwr Windows, Locks, mirrors, w/ illuminated controls, Cruse Control, Tilt Wheel, Pwr liftgate lock, Load floor tie downs, Tachometer,  Luggage Rack, Alloy Wheels, Running Boards, Cloth sport buckets w/ power driver’s seat

Additionally, this past summer the truck got a NEW intake manifold gasket, clutch and hydraulic throw-out bearing, and new brake rotors, calipers, and E brake. This truck is RARE with the tow package and std. transmission and is a blast to drive.

There is some rust, but it’s very little for the age and easily touched up, you can see from the pictures it’s still in very good shape and just about anyone would be happy to be seen driving it.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find another full framed Explorer with 4x4 and tow package that’s in this good of shape for the money I’m asking.  Please, shop around and educate yourself, I’m asking a fair price for a decent truck, pretty simple... *** I CAN DELIVER WITHIN REASON FOR COST OF FUEL***

Thanks for looking, good luck bidding!

Bill Ford augments his power by nearly doubling stake of supervoting shares

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Bill Ford Jr. has more sway than ever over the automaker that bears his surname, as the great-grandson of Ford's founder has reportedly doubled is holdings of Class B Ford stock. According to a report from Reuters (which cites a newly discovered securities filing), he acquired some 3.7 million Class B shares from an unnamed family member.
Class B shares of Ford stock are held by descendants of Henry Ford and offer expanded voting power to their holders - Bill Ford Jr. now controls roughly 11.5 percent of the total Class B pool. Ford Jr. is also a one of five trustees that manage a voting trust that oversees the majority of these "supervoting" shares. In total, Reuters reports there are 71 million Class B shares that account for 40 percent of the voting power in the company, despite making up just 2 percent of the total volume of all Ford stock.
Ford Jr. served as Ford's CEO until 2006, when he stepped down to hire and make space for current CEO, Alan Mulally. The move to consolidate Ford family voting power, at least somewhat, is seen by many as a comforting sign with Mulally's departure from the company likely to happen in the next several years.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.
