THIS FORD PICK-UP WAS INHERITED FROM MY STEP-DAD. HE PRIMARLY USED' AS HIS CAMPING & HUNTING TRUCK FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
AN ATTEMPT TO RESTORE BUT NOT FOREFILLED.
THE TRUCK ITSELF IS NOT IN BAD SHAPE. IT DOES HAVE A FEW AREAS THAT NEED ATTENTION TO' AFTER TAKING A CLOSER LOOK. A RUST AREA ON THE DRIVERS REAR BACK PANEL NEAR THE EDGE & ONE CHROME PIECE MISSING SAME AREA. AND A SMALL DENT & HOLE ON TOP OF THE HOOD, LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE TRIED TO PATCH IT UP IT'S BEEN THERE SINCE HE HAD IT.
THE WINDSHIELD DOES HAVE SMALL ARC CRACK NEAR THE BASE' IT'S BEEN THERE AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
HE WASN'T GOING TO REPLACE IT SINCE IT WAS SMALL AND NOT A DISTRACTION.
I HELP HIM A WHILE BACK IN REMOVING THE HEADLINER' HE ORDERED ONE' SOMEHOW GOT LOST IN TRANSIT' BUT THEY SAID IT WAS DELIVERED?
THE INTERIOR IS SURPRISELY IN GOOD SHAPE AND LOOKS WELL. HE DID INSTALL A AFTER MARKET RADIO IN IT. NOT THE BEST' BUT EAR ENTERTAINING AT MOST.
IT HAS A FULL SIZE CANOPY AND A BEDLINER
THE TRANSMISSION HAD A COMPLETE OVERHAUL BY 'GENERAL TRANSMISSION' IN SEATTLE.
THE TRUCK WAS GIVEN' 4 BRAND NEW 'GOODYEAR WRANGERS-SIZE 31 X 11.50 - R 15 LT - M+S WITH MAG WHEELS..
THERE IS STILL ALOT OF THREAD ON THESE BIG TIRES' SPENDY I THOUGHT AT THE TIME.
SINCE THE TIRES' HE PUT ON A COUPLE OF METAL STEP UPS ON THE TRUCK, AT A YOUNG AGE, BROTHER AND I HAD TROUBLE GETTING IN.
THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING AROUND FOR QUITE AWHILE' DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO WITH IT. TOOK IT CAMPING A FEW TIMES' DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. I DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH TIME ANYMORE IN USING IT' YOU CAN ONLY HAVE SO MANY VEHICLES' SLOWLY GETTING OVER THE DEPARTURE OF MY STEP DAD' I THINK THE MEMORIES HAVE SUBSIDED AND ITS TIME FOR THE TRUCK TO MOVE ON TO A NEW OWNER.
IT'S PRETTY DIRTY ON THE OUTSIDE' WINTER AND ALL' IT'S BEEN RAINING CATS AND DOGS AGAIN IN SEATTLE' NEVER SEEM TO GET THE TIME TO WASH IT. IT DOES CLEAN UP WELL. BUT IT WILL NEED A GOOD SCRUBBING.
360-V8 A STRONG MOTOR' LIKE I SAID DON'T USE IT MUCH ANYMORE' BUT ONCE IT'S STARTED IT'S HEALTHY AND READY TO GO. I GAVE IT A NEW BATTERY' I DISCONNECT IT AS IT IS NOW' WHEN NOT IN USE. I HAD A GENTLEMAN THAT TOOK IT OUT FOR A SPIN' LIKED IT BUT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY' HE SAID HE WOULD BE BACK' BUT YOU NEVER KNOW, SO I'M SELLING IT.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS DROP ME A LINE.
I'LL TRY TO GET MORE PHOTO'S AS SOON AS THE MONSOON IS OVER.
I PROBABLY LEFT OUT A FEW DETAILS'
SEE HOW THE GRILL LOOKS' HE WAS GOING TO INSTALL FOG LIGHTS THERE.
CONTACT ME IF YOU QUESTIONS.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
Ford recalling 126,000 Fusions and Milans over wheel separation concern
Fri, 09 Dec 2011Ford has announced a recall of certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation.
According to The Detroit News, the company is aware of a total of 30 wheel separation incidents, one of which occurred on the front of the vehicle. Even so, no injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
The problem apparently stems from the fact that the mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge. Head to the NHTSA website for more information, and click past the jump to view the full recall notice.
