1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Barn Find With Patina on 2040-cars

Year:1950 Mileage:100000
Location:

Massillon, Ohio, United States

Massillon, Ohio, United States

This is a 1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck. It has a 1974 Buick 350 V-8 Engine, Automatic Transmission and Ford 9" Differential. It also has the Power Booster and Master Cylinder from the 1974 Buick. The truck sat for years and could truly be considered a Barn Find. It appears to have spent more years behind the barn than inside the barn! The Truck's Engine got  a new Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, New Distributor Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Plug Wires and the Carburetor was rebuilt. It starts easily with a couple of pumps on the accelerator and the first turn of the key. The Brake System got a New Power Booster, New Master Cylinder, New Brake lines and Hoses, New Wheel Cylinders and more. It has Brakes and will stop. The Body has rust and dents and dings. It also has the shopworn look and patina everyone is trying to copy. The Truck is fairly complete and draws a fair amount of attention. It has a sheet of steel in the floor of the bed. None of the gauges function and the gauge cluster is loose in the dash. The seat appears to be an original unit, but may be out of something else. It has a blue aftermarket cover on it. The Truck is sitting on a set of vintage bia-ply tires and original style wheels and hub caps. The Tires appear to be quite old. They hold air and have good tread, but I'm not sure putting them on the road would be a good idea. I have not been driving this truck on the street. Driving it home is probably not an option. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a couple of hundred miles of Canton, Ohio, or you can pick it up. It will start and drive right onto your trailer. I am posting good pictures, but will try to answer any questions through email. I have sold vehicles to overseas buyers and welcome foreign bidders. This Truck is listed with no reserve and a low starting bid. It will sell to the highest bidder.

FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.

Autoblog joins Elon Musk and Danica Patrick in accepting ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

Unless you've been living in an off-the-grid cabin in the woods for the last couple of weeks or abstain entirely from social media activities, you've probably seen someone you know dump a bucket of ice and water over their own head recently. While the origins of the so-called Ice Bucket Challenge are shrouded in a history typical of Internet memes, its effectiveness in raising money and awareness for the ALS Association has been astonishing.
Celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, sports, technology and more have generated untold millions of video views in support of the organization that is helping patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease), and generated a much needed influx of cash, as well. Recent reports have some $15.6M raised in the last two weeks.
Of course, the big-hearted world of automotive celebrities has taken part in the drenching charity effort as well. Follow on below for some of the biggest names on four wheels getting iced for charity, with a smattering of your favorite Autobloggers thrown in for good measure.

Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
