1955 Ford F100 Custom Street Truck W Ford 460 Racing Engine on 2040-cars

Year:1955 Mileage:1328 Color: is done in an original Ford
Location:

Malibu, California, United States

Malibu, California, United States

This is a 1955 Ford F-100  a great looking street truck that will turn heads and attract compliments.

100 % Rust Free truck with it's original sheet metal.

The exterior is done in an original Ford 50's color Colonial White - single stage . The truck has great custom features like the powder coated front grill and running boards gun metal grey.
The effect is subtle but gives it that retro look. All other chrome has be re-done or replaced.

The new engine is a brute , New Ford 460 w Holley 750-cgm that's perched on an Edelbrock rpm intake manifold. There is no doubt about the engines origins once you see those Ford Racing aluminum valve covers under the hood.  However the sound you hear from the exhaust raspy cadence , delivered loud & clear though 2 1/2 inch stains steel exhaust pipes says it all.

The frame is all new and powder coated  from scratch .  This allowed the position of the front wheels  to be centered exactly on wheel wells , giving the truck nice tight stance. The chassis boasts a IFS that's based on Mustang's ll components so there is rack & pinion steering with hefty disc brakes thrown in. The body also sports a front hinge mechanism that utilizes components from a BWM.

When the hood is closed , the trucks sweet lines become apparent and the trucks 17 in American Racing wheels  - wrapped with low -profile Continental tires -lend to the truck classic stance.

The Ford F-100 tradition  remains inside the cab as well. Minimal modification using a Sacramento Vintage Ford instrument cluster and 15 inch LeCarra steering wheel on a Ididit column. Alpine sound system with bright red vinyl  upholstery and push button start.  Super low mileage , All new glass , new wood bed ....turn key .   All custom work  was done in Southern California .  Any questions  please email me for full list anytime.

Bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta hams it up for International Bacon Day

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

This is a bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta. It is a real thing, that a real, multi-billion-dollar company designed. And it isn't even April Fools' Day. Designed for International Bacon Day, which is also apparently a thing, the 2014 Fiesta is finished in Green Envy paint - we're told black paint, like the color of a skillet, made the car look camouflaged - and features 10 gigantic decals depicting strips of tender, cured bacon.
The design, which was approved by the CEO of Benton's Country Hams, Allan Benton, show off the depth of Ford's Custom Graphics program. Unbelievably, Ford will actually start offering bacon decals to everyday customers, including (and we can't believe we're writing this) dual bacon racing stripes which will no doubt have Carroll Shelby spinning and/or salivating in his grave, and a "side of bacon," which wraps a couple of strips over the rear wheels.
Benton, who Ford claims is the King of Bacon, had this to say: "This car just makes so much sense." The Fiesta's marketing manager, Liz Elser added, "It's just awesome to drive down the road in a piece of bacon."

Ring Brothers shows 1965-66 Mustang fastback carbon fiber body

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

We covered one of Ring Brothers' more extreme SEMA builds yesterday, the De Tomaso Pantera-based ADRNLN, but if that well-executed but over-the-top Italian-American exotic is too much for you, then perhaps this Ring Brothers 1965 Ford Mustang fastback with a carbon-fiber body suits your tastes better.
What the performance-parts manufacturer is showcasing with the Mustang is the carbon-fiber body itself, which is fashioned around the 1965-66 fastback. It can be bought from the company and bonded to the skin and unibody as a do-it-yourself project, or you can take your Mustang to Ring Brothers and have the body installed there. The fenders, doors and quarter panels are two-inches wider than stock, and Ring Brothers offers a custom widebody chassis to those who want the complete package.
The show car looks sharp in person lowered on HRE wheels, and we appreciate the bare front end so we can see the supercharged V8 and front coilover suspension, though the details on those performance upgrades are slim. Also note the custom independent rear suspension setup at the rear.

2015 Ford Focus

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.
