A few weeks back I was told by a friend that his neighbor in Rancho Cucamonga CA had this 56 F100 sitting under a covered canopy in his back yard and of course, being a 56 Ford enthusiast, I had to check it out. Well, comes to find out, it was a rare big window that had been there parked with a broken rear u joint since 1974!!!! And he was the original owner!!! I had to have it!! Although he was reluctant to sell, he realized he will never get around to restoring her and would like for another 56 enthusiast to get it back on the road and enjoy it...Fortunately, that enthusiast was me! Right time right place!!! Well, I bit off more then I could chew seeing I am in the middle of restoring a pro touring 56 Chevy 210 and am getting sick of pushing her in and out of the garage every weekend when I need to work on it. So with a heavy heart, I am selling  Here are some details on her

They lost all their paperwork including pink slip but I ran the VIN through DMV and it does not even exist in the system. So its a clean and clear truck for re registration.

All original sheet metal in great condition(driver fender was dented and has some bondo but can easily be repaired) looks like an old 1960s repair. All original 272 V8 y Block motor with 3 speed Ford O Matic Trans and rear end.(motor is not running, told it did when he parked it but is been stripped of hoses and most fluids and has been sitting for almost 40 years). Both door glass pieces are missing but all regulators are there. back window and stainless trim in great shape. Front windshield is broken and has a hole in it. Bed wood is gone but all steel runners are there. Missing front seat, radio and heater. Has original steering column and wheel. has original visors and gauge cluster. Original radiator and shroud, original fuel tank and sending unit. The wheels and tires are not original. Have original hood hinges in the truck(they were seized up so I removed for rebuild) Original color of truck was baby blue.

There is a little cancer at cab corner on driver rear and passenger front. Not bad like a bunch of these other ones I've looked at in past. A little rust bubbling over drip rail but it will grind out  and did not go all the way through( I can take pics of any rust concerns and email over if you need them the worst one is the one I posted). Roof is awesome, running boards are nice, bed panels have some stress cracks at corners but NO rust. Tailgate is nice. Only rust on fenders is the typical where running board meets the rear fender. No rust in the doors or hood, frame in excellent condition, all stock just dirty( Its a California truck and been here its whole life so in excellent condition). Any other rust areas seen in pics are surface and comes right off. The floors are in excellent condition and very solid.  Im probably making it sound way worse than it is but I want whoever that buys it to be overly surprised in a good way when they get it, not the opposite. Ive been building classics for the last 20 years as a hobby and finding trucks like this one don't come around often, especially big windows. That's why I snatched it up. I am very picky about what I buy and build and I wont buy basket cases as im not into throwing away good money after bad.

Ford Police Interceptors win acceleration war against Dodge, Chevy

Just last month, Ford announced its first-ever non-pursuit-rated version of the Police Interceptor sedan for agencies looking to maximize fuel economy, but that doesn't mean that Ford is giving up on chasing down the bad guys. While the Dodge Charger can lay claim to the fastest lap time at the Grattan Raceway test facility held by the Michigan State Police, the results are now in for the Police Vehicle Evaluation acceleration tests. And Ford's Police Interceptor duo (sedan and utility) came out on top.
In the acceleration tests, Ford says that the Taurus-based PI Sedan with the newly available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 was the quickest among prospective police cars in both 0-60 and 0-100 mile per hour times. The sedan posted a 0-60 time of 5.66 seconds with all-wheel drive and 5.71 seconds with front-wheel drive, besting V8-powered competitors like the Chevy Caprice and Dodge Charger by more than 0.3 seconds. These rivals close the gap on the AWD sedan in the 0-100 test with the Ford taking 13.5 seconds compared to the Chevy's time of 14.35 and the Dodge's time of 14.7.
As for utility vehicles, the Explorer-based PI Utility, which accounts for 60 percent of Ford's police vehicle sales, essentially went head-to-head with the V8-powered Chevy Tahoe with similar results. Equipped with the new EcoBoost engine option, this big SUV hit 60 mph in just 6.28 seconds and 100 mph in 15.51 seconds compared to times of 8.22 seconds and 21.95 seconds, respectively, for the Tahoe. Other important tests in the PVE include braking and top speed, but while no automakers have stepped up to boast about their numbers in either of these categories, Ford's images show that the V8 Caprice had the highest top speed of the cars at 155 mph while the Tahoe's 139-mph speed made it the fastest utility vehicle.

Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?

Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.
