I'm listing this 1974 F100 for a close friend. I'll describe the truck as best I can,and let the pictures tell most of the story. This F100 would be an excellent base for restoration or to street rod.The truck has 19761 miles showing on the odometer, pretty sure that is NOT accurate,or at least is 119,761. It has a 302 v-8 that runs good and doesn't smoke, but has 3 small oil leaks. The transmission engages, shifts and pulls perfectly and the differential is smooth and tight. All of the gauge's as well as the dash and interior lights are in place and work as they should. The truck has good tire's @60% tread or better and the brakes work fine, save a VERY slight pedal pulse, probably from front rotors needing turned. The exterior overall is good for a vehicle of this age, with the dings and scratches you would expect to find. The drivers door is missing the aluminum trim and the left fender is missing the f100 emblem. Theres rust in the floorpans next to each door, and surface rust in the bed and small place on the body. The doors and rockers are solid. The seat has tears and needs recovered, the carpet has wear as does the dash cover, but you would expect this in a truck of this age. The overview would be a solid truck to use for reliable transportation or work,or a great start for a hot rod or restoration project.  Vehicles of this age do not require a title in Georgia,so this truck is being sold with a bill of sale only. If you need this notarized we can do this as well, but definately check the laws where you intend to register the vehicle as they differ vastly from region to region. I'm sure if your area required a state title, then a bonded title could be obtained, but this will be the responsibility of the buy. If your going to need shipping then we will assist you however we can,but all arrangements and expenses are on the winning bidder. Feel free to inbox me with any questions or concerns,I'll try to answer prompty and accurately. If something arises that I can't handle I'll put you in touch with the owner directly,he can answer anything you'll need to know. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.

Hyundai, BMW and Ford win Concept Vehicle of the Year awards

Sat, 06 Jul 2013

More than two dozen jurors started with a pool of 23 concept cars introduced at the most recent Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto and New York auto shows, then pared it down to three winners in three categories for the twelfth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards. The trophy-bearers are said to be those "vehicles most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry," and lead their classes in the Concept Car, Concept Truck and Production Preview divisions.
Hyundai had two cars as finalists for the Concept Car category, the competition boiled down to the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept, Veloster C3 Roll Top, Honda EV-STER and the Toyota Corolla Furia. It won with the HCD-14 Genesis that was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show, a sharp sedan that sharply divided opinion between those who thought it was too much, those who thought it was too much Audi A7, and those who thought it was perfect. The award panel's judges, however, thought so much of it that it's got two awards in one sitting, not only taking concept car honors, but because it earned the highest overall score in the competition it also takes the crown for Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2013.
The final selection in the Concept Truck category was down to the Ford Atlas, Kia Cross GT, Nissan Resonance and Volkswagen Cross Blue. The Ford Atlas took the silverware, after also winning the Eyes on Design award - shared with the Nissan Resonance - at the Detroit Auto Show where it was introduced.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
