please read, there has been additions since last post. 1956 Ford F-100 long bed, yes, I am listing the truck again, the last buyer could not get the money together. So please have the money if you bid.. in 56 they made about 144,000 F-100, about 119,000 or so were short beds ( 6 ft. bed ) about 25,000 were long beds ( 7 ft. bed ) and the 3/4 ton and 1 ton had an 8 ft. bed. which makes this truck a little different and more rare. the bed side rails are higher than the short bed and a little more distance between the cab and rear tire. it has a carburated 351 with duel exhaust and flow masters so it sounds good, an AOD trans, a 70s 8 3/4 Ford rear end, a Plymouth Volare front clip, boxed frame on the front half, vintage air, GM tilt wheel, tall moon eyes shifter, stereo in the glove box, the break system was just replaced, (master cyl , wheel cyl, calipers, pads, roters) new battery, new fuel pump,.has spare tire and a 2 ton jack with 2 jack stands mounted in bed and  hard tonneau cover with locks to keep it safe.has an alarm with 2 fobs. has crome tach and afermarket gagues . truck runs and drives great, I would not be selling if I wasnt getting divorced. it was painted in 97, it has some ware but still is a head turner, I have won 1st and 2nd place trophies the way it sits, there is rust on the bottom of both doors, when glueing the weather stripping on they pluged the drain holes and the water could not get out.  I have the door skins I just never got to it, contact me with any questions, my name is Robert. scince the last post I have had the tires ballenced, all upper control arm bushimgs replaced and front end alignment. Good luck bidding I can also deliver if you cover my travel expenses.

Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.
We've got live images of the C-Max Solar Energi Concept, jauntily tilted on its display to best present it's signature solar panels, straight from the CES floor.

Ford Mustang to get four-cylinder in Europe, but not US

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Fans of the Ford Mustang SVO, which was produced from 1884 through 1986 with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, may be interested to know that Ford is reportedly going to introduce something similar for 2015. But don't get too excited if you live in the US, as Edmunds reports that the vehicle will be offered in Europe only. Boo!
According to the report, Ford will put a version of its EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder into the engine bay of the Mustang. The engine would be enlarged from its current 2.0 liters to 2.3 liters, taking horsepower from 252 to around 300. The well-known 5.0 V8 engine will also be available in Europe.
"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," says Ford of Europe CEO Stephen Odell. That's great... but why not offer buyers in the States the (likely) fuel-efficient turbo option, too?

Muscle wins big at 2013 Amelia Island Concours as 1936 Duesenberg, 1968 Ford GT40 take top honors

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The 18th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance took place this past weekend, and in one of the show's biggest years yet (bringing in more than 25,000 spectators and attracting more than 300 vehicles), two powerhouses ended up winning the judges' hearts. The top Concours d'Elegance award went to a 1936 Duesenberg SJN, while the Concours de Sport went to one of the celebrated marques, a 1968 Ford GT40.
Owned by Helen and Jack Nethercutt of Sylmar, CA, this flawless Duesy is described as "one of the most powerful open cars of the 1930s," and it displays design cues of the era like rolled fenders and a tapered rear end. The SJN's supercharged straight-eight allowed it to accelerate to 100 miles per hour in just 17 seconds - surely not a disappointing feat for its day.
On a much different level of performance and timelessness, this Gulf-livery GT40 from the Rocky Mountain Auto Collection is not outdone by the elegance of the big Duesenberg thanks to some well-documented racing history. This not only includes winning at LeMans in both 1968 and 1969 - Chassis No. 1075 also managed to win a total of six times in just 11 races.
