Beautiful Classic Truck, Great Driver, Patina Rustic Paint Work * 8' Bed * Clean on 2040-cars
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
Up for purchase is a very unique Ford pickup truck. I have owned this truck for years, however I don't frequently drive it. Great looking stance (lowered - budget spring cut), great mechanical condition and reliable with every start attempt. Starts and drives every time, shifts very well, brakes are functional, windows roll up and down, radio is missing but the wiring is there. The engine was rebuilt about 6-7k miles ago, transmission has less than 500 miles since rebuild (oil pump and torque converter). Holly carb, e-cam, shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust - all else is stock. Cosmetically the truck had surface rust from the paint and clear coat fading over the years, however we did apply a topical rust treatment and then proceeded to freehand a variety of copper, blue, gold, brown and pearl shades to the paint. We then clearcoated the truck with a satin finish clearcoat (plastidip). It can easily all be removed if someone were to opt for a full or partial restoration. Interior is stock and nearly mint - including a brand new dash pad and new upgraded bench seat. The bed floorboard had rust from having trash and debris stored in it for years (held moisture) however the bed is functional again because of the new wood floor bed insert that was fabricated for it. The truck I believe was equipped with factory air since new, but I don't believe it's functional anymore. Heat works. Tires are in good shape and are fairly new. The ride is very stiff and bouncy due to the lowering procedures - however there's a great deal of aftermarket support for these platforms and a smooth suspension can be installed very inexpensively per the new owner's preference. I built this truck as a display piece and occasional cruiser around town. It's been parked in front of my shop for awhile now and I am ready to let it go to a new home. If you have trade offers or would like to inquire about additional work you'd like done to this truck, I can quote that and make arrangements for completion. It's a mechanically reliable, head-turning long bed truck - use it for whatever you'd creatively think of. I own a specialty fabrication shop in Raleigh NC and i'd love to answer any questions you may have about the truck. Please call or text before bidding if you are unsure about your decision - I will report any unpaid activity. My number is 9one92642OO7 Feel free to make trade offers. Happy bidding. |

Ford, Renault, VW shareholder oppose French aid for PSA/Peugeot-Citro"en
Mon, 29 Oct 2012Pots and kettles, glass houses and stones - that's a little of what we appear to have going on in the European car market. New reports say that that three European automakers have registered their opposition to a loan deal that PSA/Peugeot-Citroën is working on with the French government. Peugeot's finance arm, Banque PSA Finance, is struggling with its debts and has been downgraded by Moody's to its lowest investment-grade classification, one step above junk. This makes it more expensive for a potential buyer to finance a car through Peugeot. The last thing Peugeot needs is more difficulty selling cars in the tough European market, and the situation will only worsen if the bank's credit worthiness takes another hit.
A deal being worked on would have the French government offer €7 billion ($9B U.S.) in bonds to guarantee the bank's loans, which would give the institution some breathing room to manage its debts and lower its interest rates. Outside of that, a group of banks would provide other, non-guaranteed loans to the bank to further help its position. In exchange for state help, though, the government wants seats on Peugeot's board for worker representatives and a government liaison, along with factory and worker guarantees. The Peugeot family would maintain control of the company.
So what we have is government assistance being provided to a car company's finance arm, akin to the way General Motors' GMAC (now Ally Financial) and Chrysler Financial got help in their time of need. What we also have is Ford and Renault, and Germany's State of Lower Saxony, the second-largest shareholder in Volkswagen, voicing their concern about the proposal, because they say it could create an unfair competitive advantage for Peugeot. Everyone in Europe's down market is fighting for every sale, and if Peugeot gets help to keep its auto loan costs down, it figures to help buyers choose Peugeot or Citroën.
Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well. Find out if the Ford Fiesta ST can match Europe's latest hot hatches
Tue, 11 Feb 2014The V8 grunt of the Mustang has defined Ford performance cars in the US for the last 50 years, but in Europe, the Blue Oval has nearly as a long history of building some of the best hot hatches on the market with the Fiesta, Escort and later the Focus. The latest Fiesta ST has just hit the roads on both sides of the pond and has been enthusiastically received thanks to its combination of a peppy, turbocharged engine and hatchback utility.
However, Europe is getting a bumper crop of hot hatches at the moment, including the forthcoming, third-generation Mini Cooper S. Should Ford have waited to launch the ST until it knew how the competition performed? That's the answer that Xcar is after in its latest video, and it took the Fiesta to the track and some very misty, Welsh roads to find out. Scroll down to find out whether the ST stacks up.
