1995 F150 5.8 351 Windsor W/ Performance Upgrades on 2040-cars
Amarillo, Texas, United States
I'm selling a 1995 F150, the truck originally was a 1995 F150 Eddie Bauer / Special Edition / XL ordered from the factory that came with the 5.8 351 Windsor. This truck is not perfect so please don't knick pick it because if your looking for the "perfect " truck then this is not the one. First the Body of the truck is is pretty good shape for being almost 18yr old , there is no damages on the body, the only issue with the paint would be that some of the clear is peeling off and there is some paint chips and some scratches on the paint but over is not too bad. The truck has 24inch wheel with new Nexen Tires. The engine is the original 5.8 351 Windsor that came with truck except for the performance upgrades that have been added such as : Edelbrock Performer upper and lower Intake, MSD Cap & Rotor, MSD 6AL, Bassani headers, Dual Flowmasters and upgrade computer from Prom-m . The interior is almost perfect I would say 8 of 10, it has the real lightning cloth seats with the lightning embroidery on it as the pictures will show. All electronic work to my knowledge when I check it. Truck also has remote start and shaveless door handles. the truck was painted to a custom burgundy and silver color but the original color of the truck was green. I'm sure I'm missing a lot of other stuff but I took several pictures of the whole truck and also made a video. No joy rides but if you are close to Amarillo you can contact me and can show you the truck. This truck does not leak any oil and also has shaved door handles with remote start. This truck is also for sale locally so if it sales, it will be removed, if you have any other question please let me know, thanks.
Now for bad: the rear roll pan will need to be painted to match color, currently it is primered and the last thing is that clear is peeling on some places like the roof, the hood and in the tail gate. On Sep-07-13 at 08:45:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a video of the truck, click on link: http://youtu.be/2KchscFGZno |

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years
Wed, 18 Sep 2013This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.
Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.
2015 Ford F-150 enters production
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Ford has given the F-150 a dramatic makeover for 2015, switching to an aluminum body that helps reduce weight by about 700 pounds. Because the truck is dramatically different, Ford also had to change the way it makes the F-150, so we went inside its sprawling factory in Dearborn, MI, this week to see the Blue Oval's new manufacturing techniques in action.
The company has added 850 jobs at the site and upgraded its stamping and tool and die facilities. The body shop is also modernized, and it has been fitted with 500 new robots that join the structures together. The first 2015 F-150 rolled off the line on Tuesday, and the trucks will begin arriving in dealerships in December. Get a closer look at the F-150's unique assembly process in our video.
