Compressed Natural Gas or CNG, is one of nature's best untapped energy sources. Unlike fossil fuels, it is constantly produced by the earth and can also be synthesized through chemical processes. The technology has been around for decades but until recently has been kept in the closet by big oil! It is one of the fastest growing alternative fuel sources and unlike biodiesel and ethanol (E85), is a viable replacement for petroleum. Within the next 10 years 90% of gov't fleets will be CNG and civilian population will follow over the next 20 yrs. Getting sick and tired of the up and down ridiculous gas prices?? With the price of gas skyrocketing yet again, there's no better time to buy an alternative fuel vehicle. Here is your chance to own a hard to find 2003 Ford F-150 XL Bifuel CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and gasoline pickup truck. Save big $$$ with natural gas, while helping clean up the environment. Equipped with the heavy duty 7700 package, consists of heavier trans and diff standard in an F250 along with extra leaf in rear springs and bigger 7 lug wheels. If you have a business, this vehicle can save you a substantial amount on fuel costs! This is a factory CNG package, NOT an aftermarket retrofit. This is a bifuel CNG and GASOLINE vehicle and runs on either fuel. This is equipped with the newer (non-compuvalve) CNG system with direct injection. CNG Specs: Compressed Natural Gas Tank Capacity: Approximately 11.0 US Gallons Gasoline Equivalent(GGE) @3600 psi 70 degrees F (21 degrees C). Average CNG range approx 130-170 miles. Expiration date 2018. This hard to find 2003 Ford F-150 XL dual fuel Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and gasoline pickup truck. Equipped with the reliable and powerful 5.4L Triton V8 engine and automatic transmission. CNG system functions normally on an everyday basis. This vehicle has been filled with CNG. This vehicle is super economical to drive, I have found CNG priced as low as $1.50 a gal and the highest is $2.75 per gal that I have found. Why should I buy a CNG/Bi Fuel Vehicle? • SAVE MONEY! CNG is about 1/3 less than regular unleaded and more stable in price. • CNG burns with practically no emissions compared to petroleum fuel so each mile you drive helps the environment....THINK GREEN helps you too, your engine will last longer. • CNG is safer (less volatile) than gasoline as it has a higher ignition temp, 1200 deg vs 800 deg. • CNG poses little if any environment risk of contamination and in the event of an accident where tanks are breached, it evaporates into the air with no spill.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.

2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.

Ford Fusion getting substantial refresh for 2017

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

It's only been a couple of years since Ford rolled out the current Fusion, but if these spy shots are anything to go by, it's already planning what appears to be a substantial update for the mid-size sedan.
According to our paparazzi on the ground, the new Fusion is being prepared for launch late in 2016 or early 2017. Although heavily camouflaged to keep it from prying eyes such as ours, it appears that the updated Fusion will tone down the Aston Martin-style grille, ditch the small corner window with revised front side glass and tweak the vehicle's overall shape. But there's more to the new Fusion than a styling adjustment, and our spy photographers have caught a glimpse inside and taken us along.
Apparently the new Fusion is to get a completely overhauled interior with soft-touch surfaces and matte wood trim to make it seem more upscale. There's an all-new rotary gear selector (like you'd find on a Jaguar, for example) hinting at the implementation of a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The prototype appears to be packing the Microsoft SYNC system, suggesting that the new Blackberry QNX system isn't ready quite yet - though that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be ready by the time the new Fusion is.
