Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck Xlt Extended Cab 4 Door 2wd 8 Foot Long Bed Triton V8 on 2040-cars
Hatboro, Pennsylvania, United States
Please read this entire description before bidding. I am providing a lot of detail in this description so it is accurately described. I have already purchased its replacement so there is no reserve. I need to get it off my insurance policy ASAP. It will be sold to the highest bidder when this auction closes. Happy bidding and good luck. For sale is my Ford F-150 XLT pick up truck that has an extended cab, 8 foot bed, 2WD, and a rear sliding window. Less than 25% of all trucks made have any of these options. Less than 1% have all of them on the same vehicle. It is very rare. It isn't my primary vehicle. I've always had a pick up as a second vehicle to move the family to the shore on weekends and deliver furniture to and from a local estate auction when I can handle the loading and unloading by myself. My family has grown and I found a similar truck that has all the same features with the larger size crew cab. As I show in the pictures, the extended cab has the front seat that is a split 60%/40% bench and the middle can be tilted down to become an arm rest / cup holder. The back seats are also a 60%/40% split bench that can be locked in the upright position. I purchased it in 2007 with 101,000 miles and I've put almost 43,000 miles on it. The motor is a Triton 8 cylinder, 4.6 L with strong power. The prior owner used it as a toy because it had the bed rug and stretch vinyl bed cover on it. Most of my miles have been from driving family stuff like kids, bikes, strollers, etc. The light moving was minimal miles and just local deliveries. The vinyl cover got wind damaged because I didn't secure it for highway driving. I needed to removed the three bed rug side panels to protect them from rain when I removed the bed cover and frame. I still have all the sections and will include them in this auction if the winning bidder wants it. Mechanically, this is a great truck. I gave it regular maintenance. The oil was changed within the last 1,000 miles, I replaced the tires last year and just replaced the breaks and rotors last month. On the way home from getting the breaks replaced, I got the long scratch / dent over the passenger side rear wheel well. That is the worst dent / scratch on the truck and was the catalyst to start the search for the replacement. Any truck with this many miles has flaws. Almost all flaws with this truck are cosmetic. Another words, there are several dings and dents all around this truck. Most were on the truck when I bought it. You will see my replacement has several too. Trucks seem to be cheaper when they have a couple dents. I have always cared more about the trim package and mechanical reliability. I've photographed and included the up close shots of the worst ones. There is also small 3" crack in the windshield caused by a stone that shot up from a vehicle in front of me. It is not a distraction while driving and has passed inspections. The plastic end cap that is on top of the gear shifter went missing a couple years ago. The kids never fessed up how they actually got it off and I never got around to buying another one. The ABS light has stayed lit while driving for the past three years I had the antilock braking system checked back when the light got stuck on. It works fine and has always past inspection while lit. I just never wanted to spend big bucks trying to figure out why it stays on. For some reason the passenger side lock won't go up when you push the power lock button on the drivers side. Again, not a big deal. You can see from the pics the interior seats are clean and I have extra mats on the floor. The stains on the floor are from the kids that spilt soda and drinks. Giving the carpets a shampoo would remove them if that is important to you. This truck isn't half way through its life because it has been well maintained and never used hard. I took a pic of my replacement gold color Ram pick up truck bed cover so you can see the type of vinyl cover frame I have and what it would look like if you decide to purchase a new cover to put over the existing but unattached frame. Nothing in the picture showing the gold truck is for sale in this auction. It is included strictly for a visual description only of what the vinyl cover would look like on the truck being sold. If you have any questions, please ask. Bid with confidence. I can't think of anything else to share about it. Good luck in your bidding. Someone will get a great deal on a rare XLT, 2WD, 8' long bed with an extended cab that runs great. Thank you for your interest. On Apr-23-14 at 20:27:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Now that the auction is half over, I've ran a Kelley Blue Book appraisal. Based on their specifications below, this truck rates most like their Good classification. To confirm, I've copied both their Good and Fair option specifications. Good $5,290- 54% of all cars we valueHas some repairable cosmetic defects and is free of major
Fair $4,740 - 18% of all cars we value Has some cosmetic defects that require repairing and/or replacing

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.
2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke
Tue, 29 Jul 2014What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.
Ford Focus 1.0-liter Ecoboost to only get manual trans in US
Sun, 23 Feb 2014Photos of the 2015 Ford Focus leaked earlier today, but now we're able to tell you more details of the global five-door hatchback. Bucking automaker's troubling trend of ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatics, Ford says the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine will come only in a six-speed manual in the US, because, well, American drivers aren't as sophisticated as our European brothers and sisters.
Ford didn't come out and say it that way, but it has found American drivers are more prone to complain about automatics in smaller-engine cars, Raj Nair, Ford's group vice president of global product development, said at a press conference last week. The recent JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study backs up Ford's claims, pointing out that drivers are complaining about rough transmission shifts, engine hesitation and lack of power, particularly in small cars. In Europe and other parts of the world, drivers seem to understand the quirks of these pint-sized engines, Nair said, so they'll have the option to buy an automatic. Ford is working on tuning its dual-clutch transmissions to make them more amenable to American driver's tastes.
Ford will show off the refreshed 2015 Focus at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The car is due for an update, having been on sale in its current form since 2012. The automaker said it is jamming the car full of new technology - like a USB port that promises to charge your phone in half the time as a regular USB port. Features like Sync and a rear back-up camera will come standard. For a more in-depth look at the car, take a look at the full press release.
