See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"228,000 miles. No problems with engine or transmission, both are very strong. A few minor scratches here and there but overall the body is in good condition and has no rust or dents. Tires are 60-70 % worn so they will last a little while but not that far from needing new ones. Interior has the wear and tear that would be expected for a truck this age. Drivers side seat is worn and torn so needs a seat cover which I could possibly get before sell is final. Registered in Cobb County so it passed emissions test in October 2012. Power window on passenger side sticks sometimes in the rubber molding and needs a little push until it clears but should be an easy fix. No other problems that need immediate attention but may need rear shocks replaced soon and possibly a brake job. I'll be happy to answer any other questions you may have if you respond to the ad."

This F150 is a great looking truck, only a few minor scatches here and there and no dents or rust.  You won't find many 16 year old trucks that look this good.

AM/FM Radio with 6 disc CD changer, Power Windows and locks, A/C, Extended Cab with 3rd door, towing package, bedliner, driver and passenger side airbags.

I bought the truck in 2001 when it had 43,000 miles on it (only one other owner I think)  I've taken care of it and have driven it sensibly.  The 5.4 liter may use a little more gas but it's not that bad when driven correctly and the power is there when you need it.

Body is in good shape and doesn't have any rust.  Interior has the wear and tear expected for a truck its age.

Buyer is responsible for picking up or obtaining shipping method.

Kelley Blue Book Value listed as $4,744 in good condition and $4,044 in fair condition.  Using their criteria I'd say it's in good condition but price is closer to fair condition figure.

I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have prior to completing purchase.  Accepting Cash or US Bank certified cashiers check for payment and Pay Pal for deposit.

2013 Ford Explorer Sport

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Ford hiring 800 more salaried workers than originally expected

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Ford is on a roll this year, with excellent quarterly earnings and better-than-expected vehicle sales leading to 800 more job opportunities with the Blue Oval. In January, Ford announced that it wanted to hire 2,200 salaried employees, but, since then, that figure has been revised to 3,000, representing a 36-percent increase over original projections. About 1,500 of those jobs remain, 80 percent of which are technical professional positions.
"Engineers and technical professionals are in as much demand as our cars, trucks and SUVs," says Felicia Fields, Ford Group Vice President for Human Resources. Helping to spur this job growth are increasing market share on both the West and East Coast and robust demand for the Ford Escape and F-150.
To find job candidates, Ford is reaching out to them via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, in addition to the company's corporate career site. The Blue Oval is also ramping up its presence on college campuses.
