This is my 2002 Ford F250. It has just under 84,000 original miles. The vehicle is in excellent condition for its age, but does have some very minor rust beginning. But really the only visible rust is a quarter sized spot on the rear passenger fender. There is some other rust beginning on the absolute bottom of the doors on the inside behind the weather strip, but the vehicle still looks great.
I am the second owner of this vehicle. Both myself and the previous owners are non-smokers and the inside of the vehicle is in excellent/clean condition. The only known issue with the vehicle is that the vacuum actuation of the 4x4 isn't working. However, the 4x4 does still work and works fine, you just have to lock the hubs. Typically on these Fords, this is caused by a problem in the hub seal inside the hub assembly, which is a relatively cheap/easy fix. Here are the options: - 4x4 - Power Windows - Power Locks (no FOB/keyless entry though) - Rear Slider (manual) - 8 ft. bed (w/spray in bedliner) - Tow Hitch w/Trailer Brake Controller I also installed an Alpine radio that is Bluetooth equipped. Replaced the OEM speakers. I have the original equipment and it will come with the vehicle. Additionally, the tires on this vehicle are almost new all the way around. The truck starts/drives/runs flawlessly as you'd expect from it's condition and mileage. It's had an easy life. Previous owner redid a lot of the front end, so you won't have to deal with that anytime soon. The vehicle drives straight and true. I'm only parting with this truck because it's simply too big for my needs. This is a very big truck, so if you're not familiar with a 3/4 ton extended cab with an 8 ft. bed, make sure you understand its size. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.
Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.
2015 Ford F-150 enters production
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Ford has given the F-150 a dramatic makeover for 2015, switching to an aluminum body that helps reduce weight by about 700 pounds. Because the truck is dramatically different, Ford also had to change the way it makes the F-150, so we went inside its sprawling factory in Dearborn, MI, this week to see the Blue Oval's new manufacturing techniques in action.
The company has added 850 jobs at the site and upgraded its stamping and tool and die facilities. The body shop is also modernized, and it has been fitted with 500 new robots that join the structures together. The first 2015 F-150 rolled off the line on Tuesday, and the trucks will begin arriving in dealerships in December. Get a closer look at the F-150's unique assembly process in our video.
