2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat Extended Cab Pickup 4-door 6.4l on 2040-cars
Wilmington, California, United States
Absolutely gorgeous 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 with only 64,585 miles sports a 6.4 diesel, AT, On-the-fly 4 wheel drive, AC, PW, PS, power seats, power running boards, power extending mirrors, power rear window slider, XLT leather interior, AM-FM CD, Trailer brake control, 4 auxilary switches, tailgate step, and grill treatment. Now for the add ons: A-pillar gauge pod, BBS exhaust, 26" custom wheels, Nitto off road tires, and a 47 gallon fuel tank which has taken me close to 600 miles without stopping for gas! Now for the best part, The complete engine short block was replaced by the local Ford dealer at 57,531 miles meaning the truck only has 64,585 miles on it and the diesel engine only has 7,054 miles! I also recently replaced the DPF with OEM FOMOCO parts. All receipts go with the truck. This is a beautiful, hard working, great towing truck that you will be very proud of. After doing all this work to my baby why sell it? I now need to two a 2 car enclosed gooseneck trailer and I have decided to purchase a dually. Best of the luck to the lucky winner. This truck is for sale locally, so I may end this auction at any time if the truck sells prior to the end of this auction. Winning bidder must pay a $500.00 non-refundable deposit via paypal within 72 hours of auction end. I have described this truck to best of my knowledge. This truck is being sold "as is" by the seller. Full payment must be made prior to pick up. Funds will be accepted in cash, wire transfer, or cashiers check. |

Chevy Silverado frame twist test a marketing victory versus Ford
Thu, 16 Oct 2014The pickup market is so competitive that all three major American makers are constantly trying to find a way to prove their product is the best. The new 2015 Ford F-150 is grabbing headlines at the moment by winning awards and posting segment best numbers. But in a new video, Chevrolet is taking aim squarely at the 2015 F-250 Super Duty in a battle of heavy-duty truck supremacy against the 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... well, in a single metric anyway.
The big numbers from pickups often come down to payload, towing rating and fuel economy, but for this test, Chevy and Howie Long are challenging the torsional rigidity of the trucks' frames, specifically which one flexes less. Long plays the everyman here having the Chevy engineer explain what's going on in the tests. Unsurprisingly for a video on Chevy's official YouTube page, the 2500HD wins out by a good margin. The company also reports that similar results as shown here have been certified in third-party testing.
Check out the video to see the full test. While this might seem like a marketing win for Chevy, Ford isn't immune to it, either. In 2009, the Blue Oval uploaded a similar video comparing the flex under 225 pounds of weight from the bare frames of the F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram (as it was still called at the time) and the Toyota Tundra. The results fell in the Blue Oval's favor, as you can see here.
Ford Mustang GT500 successor spied near SVT
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Details about the next-gen Ford Mustang are scarce, and there's even less information out there about the upcoming replacement for the Shelby GT500. Previously rumored to drop the Shelby name and wear the GT350 moniker, the highest-performance Mustang has just been spotted testing near Ford's SVT operations.
Despite being cloaked in heavy camouflage, we can instantly tell this prototype is different from other Mustang spy shots we've seen in the past. Aside from the Shelby-spec wheels, quad exhaust outlets (previous spy shots show only two) and beefier brakes, this car also has air intakes on the hood and front fenders. These elements help to neither prove nor dismiss rumors that the next SVT Mustang will be naturally aspirated. It also looks like Ford is may be planning some changes to this car's rear suspension, as there is some extra camouflage added beneath the rear end of this prototype.
As a bonus, these spy shots also give us our first look inside the new Mustang, revealing a new steering wheel (with more buttons) and a glimpse of the dual-pod instrument gauges. Check out past spy shots of the 2015 Mustang showing off its new face and driving around town.
Ford Fiesta ST in startling track battle against Toyota GT86
Wed, 26 Jun 2013On the surface, there's very little that the Ford Fiesta ST and Toyota GT86 (or the Scion FR-S that is sold in the US, or the largely similar Subaru BRZ) share in common. One is a hatchback with power coming from a turbocharged engine routed to the front wheels. The other is a coupe with power coming from a naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine routed to the rear wheels.
Thing is, both of them are reasonably priced performance cars aimed at a similar segment of the automotive marketplace, so a comparison isn't out of the question. It is with all of this in mind that we direct you to the video below, in which the blokes from Evo pit the two manic little machines against one another on a race track. The result? Well, it can be summed up this way: Fast versus fun.
See how the track battle goes down in the video below.
