Up for sale is my 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT 4X4 Longbed.  I have owned this truck for about 9 years.  I am the second owner of this truck.  This is one of the cleanest and by far the nicest 7.3 Powerstrokes out there.  When I bought the truck it was completely  stock and original.  The truck used to be white in color and after owning the truck for about 6 years I wanted to change it up a bit.  Just so everyone knows, I did not paint the truck because it was wrecked or damaged.  I just wanted to paint it.  The truck has no body work done to it except a few little rock chips or door dings that I repaired during the process.  I own a body shop and tore the truck down and repainted it about two years ago.  With that being said there were no short cuts taken and no cheap materials were used on my truck.  Only the best of the best were used.  Everything was completely disassembled, refinished and done right then put back together.  Under the hood and the door jambs are just as nice as the outside. The finish on the truck is a basecoat/clearcoat show quality finish.  The base coat is House of Kolors Rootbeer candy with Brandywine & Tangerine candy mixed in.  It is a really cool color because it changes about 5 different colors depending on the lighting and time of day.  I have the mixing ratio that I mixed incase of the event of a bump up or scratch that ever needed to be repaired.  I actually also have about 3/4 of gallon left over that I kept.  The clear coat on the truck is a PPG high solids clear that has an amazing shine.  The truck has been sanded and buffed to a really nice finish. This truck has a 4" Rough Country lift on it with 35/13.50/18 Mickey Thompson ATZ's that are in good shape and 18X10 MB Motoring Wheels.  The Wheels are actually one of a kind as well because I had them powder coated flat black and a machine shop drilled out the circles around the wheel lip for a more custom look.  The wheels balance out perfect with only normal amount of weights on them.  If you look in the picture I had a custom gas lid door powder coated the same color to match the wheels.  Every light on the truck is the factory ford lights except the headlights and have been tinted using PPG Clearcoat and black candy basecoat.  The lights are just as slick as the truck and can be polished just like a regular finish.  The front and rear bumpers have been powder coated the same color as the wheels and gas lid door and have no dents or scratches anywhere.  The rear bumper is a 6" drop bumper and has a great aggressive look.  The truck has a steel cowl hood and if you look closely in the picture you can see barbed wire running down the cowl of the hood.  I didn't have the best light (it was getting dark) for the barbed wire to show but in good sunlight it shows up really good.  I also painted barbed wire around the emblem on the tailgate.  The emblem on the tail gate has been custom painted with the letters "SC" which stands for "Southern Comfort" which is what I named the truck as you can see on the bedsides in the pictures.  All of the stencil work is actually paint on this truck, there are no stickers or decals anywhere.  Every piece of plastic trim including the mirrors, cowl panel, bumper plastic and bed rail caps on the truck have been refinished with SEM's Hot Rod Black (Not spray paint) for that perfect trim color.  All of the trim looks brand new like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The grille of the truck is also a one of a kind grille, I painted the outer shell the same SEM's Hot Rod Black and I left the center section chrome.  The headlights in the truck are new 2005-2007 Super Duty Harley Davidson lights.  All of the emblems on the truck are new 2005-2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty Emblems.  The mirrors on the truck are 2005-2007 Super Duty power & heated mirrors.  I removed the 7.3 diesel emblems on the door for a smoother look.  The truck has a Rhino Liner in the bed and a turn-over gooseneck hitch in the bed.  The truck has a Clarion touchscreen CD/DVD/Navigation that cost me about $600 and is a very nice unit. The door speakers are JL Audio.  The windows have been tinted and to be honest I am not sure what percentage they are but they look good with the color of the truck.  The only flaw I know of is the tent on the back glass is barely starting to wrinkle at the bottom where the sliding bank glass slides, but you can't see it from the outside of the truck.

The Truck has a DP Tuner chip (shift on the fly) with 6 settings. 1-stock, 2-High Idle, 3-60HP Tow, 4-80HP Economy, 5-120HP Race, 6-140HP Extreme. The truck has a cold air intake, Banks Power Elbow on the turbo, Banks 4" straight exhaust from the turbo back with a 5" tip that has been powder coated the same flat black, Banks compressor wheel in the turbo, Banks Trans-Command for the transmission (which increases fluid pressures and better shifts), Transmission was completely rebuilt at 120K, a heavy duty torque converter, a new performance high pressure oil pump.  The truck is geared the factory 3:73 and runs strong and drives perfect.  The motor runs excellent and has tons of life left.  7.3 Powerstrokes are known for hitting the "broke in" mark at 150K miles.  I have seen numerous 7.3 Powerstrokes with well over 500K miles on them.  Under the hood of this truck is extremely clean and could be wiped down with a pair of white gloves.  It is not like your typical diesel truck that has grease and black sut everywhere.  I have kept this truck spotless since the day that I have owned it.  You would have to see it to appreciate it.  I never raced, sled pulled or been in the mud with this truck but if you are one of those people who like to "roal coal" this truck will absolutely do it when you turn the chip up to the 140HP setting.  The 4 wheel drive works perfect and it has locking hubs but honestly it has not been used but maybe 5 times since I have owned it.

This truck has always been meticulously maintained since the day I have bought it.  All fluids have been changed when they are supposed to.  The truck runs and drives flawlessly and very strong with many miles left in it.  The truck truly is one of the cleanest 2002 super duties that you will find out there.  I absolutely hate to part with this truck like you couldn't possibly imagine because of all of the time I have spent on it but my wife and I are expecting our first baby in April and are in the process of buying a new house and the toys have to go unfortunately.  If you have any questions about my truck feel free to call or text me (Kyle) at anytime before 10PM EST at 336-460-8927.  If I don't answer just leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  Please don't call me with any ridiculous offers because I know what my truck is worth and don't want to even deal with it.  Please be aware that I have the right to end the auction at anytime due to the truck being for sale locally also.  If the truck was to sell locally I will end it.  Thank you very much for looking and good luck bidding!

Ford gives S-Max the Vignale treatment in Milan

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Ford has a bit of a history in reviving the names of old coachbuilders it has long since gobbled up and using them to distinguish its top-of-the-line models in Europe. That's what it did for years with Ghia, and after having replaced it several years ago with the Titanium trim level, now it's doing it again with Vignale.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Ford revealed the Mondeo Vignale concept in both sedan and wagon body-styles, which are set to reach production next year. But before they do, the Blue Oval automaker is at it again, applying similar upgrades to the S-Max minivan and unveiling it in concept form in Milan this week.
Setting the Vignale concept apart from any other S-Max is its Milano Grigio rose-hued silver pearlescent paint, 21-inch alloys, chrome trim and hexagonal-pattern grille. Inside it's all ultra-soft quilted leather and aluminum trim, with tablet docking stations in the back and thinner, more flexible seats than the existing production version.

Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.

Ford's Mulally now said to be in lead for Microsoft CEO job

Sun, 29 Sep 2013

There have been rumors that Ford CEO Alan Mulally could assume the top job over at Microsoft, whose CEO, Steve Ballmer, will retire within the year. Mulally hasn't come out and said that he's considering moving to Microsoft after (or before) his contract with Ford through 2014 ends, but sources in the know say he's the front-runner to become the tech giant's CEO and has opened up to the idea more in recent weeks, AllThingsD reports.
Mulally is no stranger to Washington, where Microsoft is located, having worked in the state for Seattle-based Boeing Commercial Airplanes as CEO years ago. He also recently was an adviser to Ballmer in an effort to realign the company's management structure to help it become more competitive in a fast-changing computer hardware and software market. And when Ford developed its Sync digital interface, it tapped Microsoft to provide the operating system, Microsoft Auto. Perhaps the least crucial connection - but nonetheless an important one - is that Mulally still owns a house in the Seattle area, and it's been said he wants to return there, according to AllThingsD.
A main challenge Microsoft's next CEO will face is how to manage the company's numerous, fractured operations and, eventually, streamline them. But even on this front, Mulally has experience; after all, it was he who ushered in an era of global Ford vehicles, after the automaker had become complacent developing and selling vehicles by region leading up to the economic recession of 2008-2009.
