2006 F350 Crew Dually Diesel Rebuildable Damaged Not Wrecked 4x4 Repairable 6.0 on 2040-cars
Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, United States
You are bidding on a 2006 f350 lariat 4x4 with a powerstroke 6.0l diesel engine. It has a Mississippi certificate of title with flood damage and true mileage unknown.
It is being sold "as-is" "where-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Check with your local dmv prior to bidding for what is needed to title this vehicle in your state. The speedometer cluster in the truck was dead so I replaced it with one that had 110,791 miles on it. Therefore, that is not the true mileage of this truck. I still have the old one, you may be able to get the actual mileage out of it if you send it into ford. I would estimate the miles on it to be around 163K. Interior in the truck looks pretty good except the driver seat has a tear in it. The radio is dead, but i have a brand new one that should fit the truck. The front power windows don't work and the heater control is dead. The power seats do work. 4x4 shift switch works, power locks work, trailer brakes seems to work, back up sensor works. I have not had a chance to check everything out. Its been a little to cold outside. The exterior of the truck is about what you would expect for a truck with over a hundred thousand miles on it. The tires look almost new. It has a nice spray on bed liner. It has a nice southern body, looks like the frame was undercoated. Nice not having all the rust that all the other 2006 year trucks around here do. The motor runs good. I have driven it up and down the driveway. You can hear the motor run in a video I took of it. Sorry the video is a little shakey it was 2 degrees outside when i took it. Click on or paste the links below into your browser to see it. You will most likely have to copy and paste it in your browser. Please ask all questions before bidding. Please have funds available before you bid, most banks do not give loans on flooded vehicles. You are welcome to come see the truck before you bid. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it will be up for sale locally for $10,500. See additional payment and terms. Truck or title don't go until funds clear my bank, including a cashiers check. http://s1017.photobucket.com/user/fred2754/media/Bama%20f350/20140119165308.mp4.html <embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid1017.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faf292%2Ffred2754%2FBama%2520f350%2F20140119165308.mp4"> |

How Ford plans to handle insurance and repair questions surrounding new aluminum-bodied F-150
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Building a car out of aluminum has a number of benefits - the lighter weight allows the vehicle to be more agile, more fuel efficient, make better use of its power and be more resistant to dings and dents. The downside to the advanced construction, though, is that repairs are both challenging and expensive. That's troubling for the new, aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, because it's kind of made a name for itself as a rugged, durable work vehicle.
How will the legions of Ford buyers cope when it comes time to insure and repair their new trucks? Well, according to Ford, it's expecting a ten-percent jump in insurance costs for the aluminum-bodied F-150, although Ford's truck marketing manager, Doug Scott, was quick to point out that the F-150 is generally cheaper to insure than its competition from Ram and General Motors. "At the end of the day, that's sort of a wash," Scott told Automotive News at last week's Detroit Auto Show. "We've spent a lot of time and feel very comfortable that that's not going to be an inhibitor."
The other issue facing Ford is the distinct lack of body shops that have the training or equipment to repair aluminum-bodied vehicles. AN cites an estimate from the Automotive Service Association claiming that of the 30,000 independent body shops in the US, less than 10 percent are able to work on aluminum.
Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems
Sun, 10 Mar 2013The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
NHTSA closes Ford F-Series Super Duty steering probe without recall
Wed, 05 Feb 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, which was originally opened last year, has now ended without a recall. NHTSA was looking into steering failures on some 336,000 trucks.
The issue rested with the steering gear - NHTSA received five complaints of failures - which was redesigned in 2005. According to the report on the matter, investigators "found evidence of broken sector shaft gear teeth and piston damage consistent with incidents of single event overload."
NHTSA investigators, however, "found no evidence of fatigue or material property defects in any of the fractures. Analysis of complaint rates by vehicle build month showed no patterns indicating potential manufacturing quality issues and no difference before and after Ford introduced design changes to the input shaft and sector shaft seals in July 2007 to address potential leak concerns," according to the report, obtained by The Detroit News.
