Thanks for taking a moment to look at my truck. This 2001 Ford F450 is LOADED with goodies and is in perfect condition. This truck is stored indoors and is used only sparingly to tow a trailer. Beyond the low miles and pristine condition are two things that should catch a buyers attention. This truck has a brand new 9 foot EBY Aluminum Hauler Body on it with the side package. This body is $5,000. The truck also has a brand new Ford Automatic Transmission. NO, not a rebuilt original transmission, a BRAND NEW Ford Transmission. This truck is only serviced at the local Ford dealer and needs nothing! The spark plugs and all recommended updates to the V10 engine have been done. With only 79,000 miles, it is ready for another 100k at least. Ford's Triton V10 is a powerhouse, combining fuel economy and incredible power. Notice how many motorhomes have gone to the 6.8 liter V10 instead of diesel power or a big block V8. There is a reason. Everything works on the truck and it looks JUST LIKE the photos. Tanner Foust tackles 'Ring in SVT Raptor
Sat, 16 Mar 2013Here's a math problem: if Tanner Foust has a 24 hours to kill in Germany and one blue Ford Raptor, how long will it take him to decide he wants to lap The Nürburgring? Extra credit if you can get your answer precise to the millisecond.
A very truck-like and slidey lap of the 'Ring is exactly what happened when the Ford-sponsored rallycross driver took time off from set-up duties for his 'day job.' Thankfully no one even thought to worry about posting a time, but you can watch some Raptor skid marks getting laid down between the kerbs in the video below.
Ford Escort testing, may be bound for Europe
Tue, 01 Apr 2014There has been little news about Ford's China-focused Escort concept since debuting at last year's Shanghai Motor Show, but the no-frills sedan has shown its camouflaged face again during cold weather testing in Northern Sweden. While far from a guarantee, the test location might hint that the Blue Oval plans to market the car outside of Asia.
The Escort's black robe and zebra paint make it hard to tell if anything specific has changed about the design, but the shape of the sedan looks close to what was shown in Shanghai. Under the disguise, you can still make out the hexagonal front grille from the concept. When Ford announced the model, the company said that the design wasn't supposed to be "arrogant or pretentious," and it certainly achieved that. The engine range is still a mystery, but it seems safe to expect small, economy-focused powertrains.
A report from last year indicated that Ford may be considering broadening the new Escort beyond Asia and possibly even selling it in Europe. The fact that the company brought it to Sweden for testing could bolster that argument. A release date hasn't been set yet, but the automaker has promised 15 new products for China by 2015. The basic sedan could be on the road soon.
Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.
