Loaded up F350 crew cab Lariat 7.3L Diesel with automatic transmission.  Truck is loaded with heated leather interior, dual power seats, power windows, power mirrors, power locks, a/c/t.  Extra's include roll up box cover, HUD headlights (super bright), sprayed in box cover, bushwacker fender flares.  Teflon coated 18" Amercian Racing ATX series rims (dirt just will not stick to them!), brand new 33" M/T tires, 2" levelling kit and a Edge Evolution programmer which monitors tranny temp, pyrometer, engine temp., turbo boost etc., and adds a 100hp power gain.  Truck also has a huge after market fuel tank (that replaces the stock smaller one) which allows you 10hrs of straight driving without stopping for fuel especially with the added fuel savings of the Edge programmer.  Also has a new 5" exhaust front to back.  Brake controller with flat pin or round plug in.

Recent maintenance included new brakes, all frontend components including upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, front sway bar link kit, power steering pump, Ford updated steering shaft replacement, brakes, axle seals, starter, batteries, wheel alignment.  All work done in the last 4k and at a professional shop.  This is a highly maintained truck and would welcome any mechanical inspection.

Body is excellent, no dents, scratches or rust.  Excellent interior, no tears, unsightly stains, dash cracks.  The 7.3L Power Stroke is legendary for its performance, fuel economy and ease of maintenance.  My only reason for selling is I would like to find a Excursion 7.3L 4x4.

This of course is not a brand new truck and although it is in very good shape for its age is not perfect.  Leather shows some wear and the box has its bumps and bruises.  Outside of that it looks good, drives good, and runs good.  This is a CDN truck so the clock is in kilometers which shows 273,000km or 169,000 miles.  Truck is sold as is prior inspection is up to the purchaser.

Ford books $2.6B pretax quarterly profit

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

While its crosstown competitors at General Motors are smarting over a drastic drop in net income to $200 million in the second quarter, Ford has reason to celebrate. The Blue Oval has announced its own Q2 financial results, including a growing net income of $1.3 billion, a $78 million increase over last year. Pretax profits for the company reached $2.6 billion, up $44 million from 2013, but total revenue dropped slightly to $37.4 billion, down from $37.9 billion. Profits per share before one-time charges totaled 40 cents per share, beating Wall Street analysts' expectations of 36 cents a share.
Regionally, the Blue Oval performed strongly, as well. North America posted a record quarterly pre-tax profit of $2.4 billion, a $119 million increase. Europe also showed signs of turn around with its first profit in three years of $14 million after a loss of $306 million in Q2 2013. Ford is actually predicting profitability in the troubled region in 2015. Asia Pacific operations also performed well with $159 million in profits, up $29 million from last year. The only region where the business posted a loss was South America.
According to Automotive News, Ford also announced more precise plans about the changeover to build the aluminum-intensive 2015 F-150. In August, the Dearborn plant will shutdown for eight weeks to retool and its Kansas City plant will do the same next year.

Ford, GM to collaborate on 9- and 10-speed transmissions

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Back in October, there were reports that General Motors and Ford Motor Company were hard at work co-developing new nine- and ten-speed automatic transmissions, and now both automakers have confirmed this joint operation. While there are no specific vehicles mentioned to receive either transmission, a collaborative press release issued by GM and Ford mention that the transmission will be designed for front- and rear-wheel-drive cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
These aren't the first powertrain components developed jointly between these cross-town rivals, either. The six-speed automatic currently used in vehicles like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Equinox was engineered in a similar fashion. As is the case with this existing transmission, both automakers will assist in the design, development and testing of the new transmissions, but each will build its own units in its own factories. Scroll down for the official press release.

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]

Sun, 16 Jun 2013

In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.
