2003 Ford F450XL Super Duty Truck
with 40' Articulating & Telescopic Bucket

This vehicle is a former fleet vehicle purchased from a southern cable company. It was serviced and inspected by one of their certified mechanics. Everything on this vehicle works just as it should. It has a number of newer parts on it.

This truck has a 6.0L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine. There is a 4 speed automatic transmission with tow/haul. It is rear wheel drive.

The Goodyear & Salion tires are 225/70R19.5fs and have roughly 90% tread remaining in the read and 60% in the front. The rims are 19.5x6.0s.

The GVWR is 15,000lb with a front GAWR of 6,000lb and a rear GAWR of 11,000lb.

It has disc brakes and spring suspension. The brakes have roughly 85% remaining in the rear and 80% in the front.

The truck has 181,060 miles on it. The motor was rebuilt at 91,324 miles.

This vehicle has a white exterior and a black/gray interior. As you can see from the photos, it is very clean with minimal wear and tear both inside and outside. Keep in mind that this truck has been working for a living. It is not going to be in pristine condition.

There are a few cosmetic flaws on this vehicle. There are very few small paint chips on the body an box. Because this truck came from the South, there are very few rust spots. They are surface only with no holes. There arw two dents on the front of the truck - one on the front bumper and another on the driver's side quarter panel near the hood. There is some staining on the headliner. The driver's seat is a bit ripped up.

This truck has a few extra features. These include AM/FM, A/C, anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags, running boards, rear step, grab bars on both sides, pintle hitch and hooks, utility work lights, emergency beacons, and strobe lights.

J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost flogged and analyzed by Ignition

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

Aside from the way it looks and perhaps its independent rear suspension, the biggest bit of news on the 2015 Mustang may be the inclusion of its 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That blown mill marks the first time since the Mustang SVO of the '80s that a turbo has been fitted under the engine of Ford's pony car.
The Mustang EcoBoost is the subject of the latest episode of Ignition from Motor Trend, giving us a great look at the technical, nitty-gritty side of the turbocharged coupe. Covering it from bow to stern, host Carlos Lago walks us through the boosted Ford before taking to the track for some driving impressions, with particular praise given to the low-end grunt of the 2.3-liter mill.
Check out the full video and then let us know which 2015 Mustang has your interest piqued the most - the EcoBoost four, the 5.0L V8 or the entry-level V6.

Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going

Tue, 13 May 2014

Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.
