| | ARGUABLY ONE OF FORDS MOST BEAUTIFUL AND ENDURING CLASSIC DESIGNS! GORGEOUS FAIRLANE 500 RETRACTABLE IS ONE OF THE MOST NICELY OPTIONED EXAMPLES AVAILABLE WITH POWER STEERING & BRAKES, POWER SEAT & WINDOWS, SPOTLIGHT MIRRORS, AND MORE! DO NOT HESITATE, THESE RARE, IN-DEMAND CARS SELL QUICKLY! | | SPECIFICATIONS | Year | 1958 | Make | Ford | Model | Fairline 500 Skyliner Retractable | VIN | H8RW123358 | Mileage | 91,278 | Engine | 352ci | Cylinders | V8 | Transmission | Cruise-O-Matic | Title | Clear/IA | Color | Torch Red | Interior Color | Red/White | | | DESCRIPTION | With its exceptional and unequaled use of stainless steel and chrome accents, folding & retracting hardtop roof, its embodiment of the “Long and Low” style of the time, and its fusion of locomotive & aviation design cues—the Ford Fairlane 500 is certainly among the last great contributions to the legacy of Art Deco inspired automotive styling produced in the United States. We are very excited to offer this 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable! Finished in period correct Torch Red (originally code E- Colonial White) and White roof, with two-tone Red and White interior, this exceptional and very rare Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner with retractable hard-top represents the second production year for this classic convertible! Well ahead of its time, these cars demonstrate, perhaps, the pinnacle of 1950’s design as well as mechanical function! Built new from the San Jose, California production plant, this Skyliner is equipped with the H-code 352ci V8 engine, Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, 2.69:1 rear axle ratio, “Swift Sure” power brakes, power steering, working power retractable top, power windows, power front seat, fender skirts, rear continental kit, padded dash, working push-button AM radio, wide whitewall tires & full wheel covers, lower rocker trim, and fender-mounted spotlight rearview mirrors! It was frame-on restored approximately 10 years ago and remains one of the most drivable examples available anywhere at any price. The original condition of the undercarriage and chassis visually support this car spent little to no time in inclement weather conditions. Only the passenger rear floor pan was replaced underneath, being professionally welded in place from the inside, while the remaining floor pans still bear original paint and dealer installed undercoating along the seams. All other body panels show clear spot welds, factory seams, with wonderful body gaps & fitment. Kept by meticulous owners in the past, this Fairlane 500 has survived the test of time in stunning fashion! Do not delay, this car will move fast! Please fell welcome to call with additional questions, or to schedule a chance to view the vehicle in person. We look forward to working with you!

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed. First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date. And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.

Prototypes developed by major automakers typically remain in said company's custody, but every once in a while, one trickles out into private hands. And that's just what we have here. Ford is donating a one-of-a-kind factory prototype for the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet that will be auctioned off later this month by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mated to a T4 competition gearbox, this rare Cobra Jet prototype includes a wheelie bar, chromoly roll cage, Weld wheels, three-link rear suspension, racing brakes, 9-inch rear axle and more. It's painted in a unique satin orange with reflective gray striping scheme, bears the serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1 and is fully ready for NHRA competition on the drag strip. To be offered with no reserve on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the Cobra Jet prototype's winning bidder will also receive tutelage at Roy Hill's Drag Racing School in Sophia, NC, along with tours of the Ford Product Development Center, Ford Racing headquarters and Ford Design Studios with Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak. Scope out the video and details below for what could be the ultimate Mustang experience for a good cause.

He may be a few months late to the party, but in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Jay Leno has delivered a short video in which he runs down which of the Blue Oval's pony cars from the past 50 years are his favorites. The list is pretty darn similar to our own, with some of the big names from the Mustang's half century making an appearance, while there are three or four cars here that we think you'll be pretty surprised by. Take a look below for this short video from Jay Leno's Garage.
