1962 Ford Fairlane - Very Low Miles on 2040-cars

"CAUTION" THIS MAY BE ADDICTIVE VERY LOW MILES
Cruising in this totally original absolutely rust free 1962 Fairlane may be habit forming. Actual 41,000 low miles and it shows. I just acquired it from the gentleman who had his eye on this classic for over 25 years. Finally was able to buy and add to his other cars. After spending a bunch on plugs, points, cap, rotor, ignition wires, carb kit, fuel filter, new gas line and remove, clean and coat inside and outside of gas tank plus labor, decided the fun maxed out. He decided to sell it to me. (Maybe because it still ran a little rough?) Anyway, I discovered and corrected an ignition wiring issue and now it purrs better than our cat. Fixed a tear and seam in the front seat, replaced the gear shift knob, played with it a little and now it's headed for your place. Don't forget to bid first. I have the original Bill of Sale from the Ford Dealer in Missouri to the original owner in Lohman, Missouri where it is still located. The paint is original, never painted, just some light primer over some very thin paint areas on hood and right fender. Could be buffed out, painted or with some paint thinner, wipe off the primer for the patina look, it's optional. Has all original interior including rubber floor mats in excellent condition. The headliner is not as nice as the seats and door panels, they look excellent. Still has the cardboard heater operation instructions hanging from the heater controls (however, heater hoses are currently bypassed in the engine compartment.) Trunk sports the original mat, tire and bumper jack. Doors, hood and trunk lid open and close like new. All the sheet metal is lazer straight and rust free as is the entire under carriage. Looks like it was accident free also. Tires look new but they are not. Some one loved and cared for this 1962 Fairlane since new and now it's up to you to carry on and enjoy this for years to come and watch your investment grow. Ask questions or come look. That's free! Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Ford investing $500M in engine plant for 2.7L EcoBoost production
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Ohio is a hot area for Ford at the moment with the announcement just a few weeks ago that production of the next-generation F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks would move from Mexico to the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. Now, Ford is investing $500 million to hire 300 workers at its Lima Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio, to add production of the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for the 2015 F-150.
The latest investment will be used to add a new flexible engine assembly system and renovate 700,000 square feet of the plant for machining and assembly areas. The Lima factory already builds Ford's 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter Duratec V6 engines. The plant opened in 1957, and it's on track to build its 40 millionth engine later this year.
Ford claims that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost will offer V8 performance with better efficiency in the F-150. It comes standard with intelligent stop/start that doesn't activate when the truck is towing or in four-wheel drive, and it's made from a combination of compacted graphite iron and aluminum for low weight and high strength. The company says that V6 engines have already proven popular in the F-150 with 57 percent of trucks in 2014 being equipped with either the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter or turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines.
Last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible nets $500k for charity at Barrett-Jackson [w/video]
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible was sold on Saturday at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Reno, Nevada, for $500,000. Ford donated the Mustang to be auctioned for charity, and all of the money is going to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, was there on behalf of the BIAA with his son Page, who suffered a brain injury in a sprint car crash in 1994. The bidding increased quickly, reaching $500k in no time, spreading a bit more hope to people who live with brain injuries.
The winning bidder will be able to choose the GT500's exterior, interior and stripe colors, and is scheduled to receive the car, signed by Parnelli Jones in appreciation for the donation, by the end of 2013. Watch the video below to see the auction-block action.
