Up for bids is 1963 Ford Fairlane V8 260 with the three on the tree manual transmission.  It has been in the family since it was purchased new in 1963, but I do not have the time, expertise or money to restore the car.  It was always well taken care of, but it will need a new clutch, muffler and good tuneup.  It still runs well regardless of needing a good tuneup. The paint is fading and chipped in some spots, however there is no body or frame rust. The engine is all original except for the generator was replaced with an alternator.  The generator could probably be rebuilt and re-installed for more authenticity.  The back interior is in great condition not requiring any major upgrades unless desired.  The front seat needs to be reupholstered, but it has a cover on it to prevent more damage to the seat.  The radio is unhooked because the original speaker was so old that it crumbled.  The front interior needs minor repair in the paneling under the steering wheel.  There is a set of snow tires, the spare tire and an old set of chains in the trunk.  The weather stripping needs to be replaced around the doors and the windshield.  Please email with any questions that may not be answered in the description.  A $500 deposit is due 48 hours after auction ending, full payment due within seven days.  Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping.

Ford Mustang GT350 seen and heard in motion for the first time

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

We just recently saw our first spy shots of the next-gen hi-po Ford Mustang slated to replace the Shelby GT500, but now we're getting our first look - and listen - of prototypes captured on video. Mustang6g.com has the video (along with some different spy shots), which show that, if nothing else, SVT knows how to tune an exhaust system. The :50 mark is a good example of this, but fast-forward to around 2:00 where the driver revs the engine and really gets on the throttle hard taking off from a stop.
There's still no definitive evidence that the next-gen SVT Mustang - said to be called GT350 - will be naturally aspirated, but it sounds just as menacing as the current Shelby GT500. While the video posted below exhibits the sort of quality that is to be expected from someone driving while trying to film someone who is attempting to elude being filmed, it's still exciting to see and hear this new Mustang in motion.

Chevy Silverado frame twist test a marketing victory versus Ford

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

The pickup market is so competitive that all three major American makers are constantly trying to find a way to prove their product is the best. The new 2015 Ford F-150 is grabbing headlines at the moment by winning awards and posting segment best numbers. But in a new video, Chevrolet is taking aim squarely at the 2015 F-250 Super Duty in a battle of heavy-duty truck supremacy against the 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... well, in a single metric anyway.
The big numbers from pickups often come down to payload, towing rating and fuel economy, but for this test, Chevy and Howie Long are challenging the torsional rigidity of the trucks' frames, specifically which one flexes less. Long plays the everyman here having the Chevy engineer explain what's going on in the tests. Unsurprisingly for a video on Chevy's official YouTube page, the 2500HD wins out by a good margin. The company also reports that similar results as shown here have been certified in third-party testing.
Check out the video to see the full test. While this might seem like a marketing win for Chevy, Ford isn't immune to it, either. In 2009, the Blue Oval uploaded a similar video comparing the flex under 225 pounds of weight from the bare frames of the F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram (as it was still called at the time) and the Toyota Tundra. The results fell in the Blue Oval's favor, as you can see here.
