Up for sale my awesome looking Resto-Mod 1964  Ford Ranchero.

This classic has had extensive work to make it a fun dependable street cruiser. I'm 60 years old and don't beat the crap out of my cars. I have a clear Florida title in my name. The professional restoration was completed couple of years back (about 3500 miles) with much attention paid to the details. Everything is either two years old or newer. The engine alone has had over 10k worth of upgrades done to it. The red seats are customized and from a Saturn. The gauges are So-Cal and has a 200mph speedo. The I-Pod stereo has multiple custom mounted speakers including 12'' subwoofer and two amps custom mounted behind the seats. It has a custom built console that mounts the buttons for the power windows along with two Ford Racing (non working) gauges. The steering wheel has a (nose) pad from Rusty Wallace racing's son's bush team. The shifter is made from titanium. The gas, brake and clutch pedals are Eleanor Mustang. The car has A/C added to keep you cool in the hot summers. I can run this car all day in the Florida sun and it stays at 190 degrees.

It has a 1993 5.0 mustang Cobra engine & trans. with 75,000 miles. It has a Vortech Supercharger, Edelbrock aluminium heads, a Steeda camshaft, GT40 intake and finished out with polished Cobra valve covers . This car was dynoed at 440 rear wheel horsepower! Dyno sheet is in the glove box. The transmission is a T5 out of the mustang with a King Cobra clutch.

The cooling system has been upgraded with a aluminium 4 core radiator and two electric fans. The exhaust consists stock exhaust manifolds and one magnatone muffler that make it sound awesome. The rear has 355 gears. The suspension has Shelby control arms, eibach sway bars, tie rods and is adjustable for racing.  Front disc brakes as well.

The California body is amazing with original rust free floors and straight body panels. The only patch is under the bed floor where that panel comes off. That's where I have the two batteries mounted. The paint is 2001 Lexus grey metallic that really pops in the sunlight. The paint and body where done a couple years back when the full resto was performed and has a few chips and minor scratches (I pointed them out in the pictures, the one on the hood is the worst chip) that are expected from a true driver car but very hard to see unless you get right up on the truck. The Ranchero is sitting under some trees, That's what you see refelected in the hood. The Chevrons and chrome down the sides are painted on. The Lunchtimers on the doors are stickers and can be removed if you want to.

I own some rental apartments and have been using the Ranchero lately to haul stuff, That's why I need to sell it to get a bigger truck that I don't have to worry about scratching it.

The bed has been coated with bed liner. It has an aluminium framed soft vinyl tonneau cover. The wheels are American Salt Flats 15'' front and 17" rears with low profile tires.  All the rubber seals, weather stripping and glass have been replaced throughout the truck and the chrome has been removed or powder coated. The taillights are LED and flash sequentially in a star pattern when you hit the brakes, Like the old Thunderbirds.

All in All this a great looking cruiser with creature comforts and dependability of newer cars that sounds like an true old school muscle car - a true Resto-Moded ride! please feel free to email me for more info, Pictures or to setup a time to check it out.

The horn doesn't work. I have it disconnected to run the steering wheel pad.

The speedometer is not hooked up it needs the T5 to older speedo cable adapter.

The turn signals don't work. I have the flasher hooked up to the brake lights so the brake lights flash instead.

As with any old car, its not a new car there might be some things you don't like or you would do different but I'm describing it as accurately and honestly as I can. So look at the pictures and ask questions if you aren't sure about something. Sold as-is. The car will not leave until all funds have cleared my bank. Will make it available for pick up or for your shipper. I can store it in my garage for 30 days after it's paid for.

Bid and bid often. It would hard to find another Ranchero like this

Ford open to diesel, hybrid or electric Mustang? [w/poll]

Sun, 08 Dec 2013

The Ford Mustang may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think of environmentally-friendly forms of transportation. The arrival of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the new Mustang could do a lot to combat that perception, but the EcoBoost engine may just be the tip of the iceberg in that regard.
Speaking with Ford powertrain boss Bob Fascetti at the reveal of the new Mustang in Australia, GoAuto reports that the Blue Oval automaker is considering offering its latest pony car with a diesel, hybrid or even electric powertrain in the future.
"We're not looking at diesel at the moment, but given where we need to go with fuel consumption we are looking at all our options," said Fascetti. Other options could include a nine- or ten-speed automatic transmission to replace the current six-speed unit in order to help improve fuel economy and emissions for the Mustang, although figures for the current lineup have yet to be revealed.

2015 Ford Mustang spied on video for the first time

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Not many cars will continue to hold our rapt attention quite like the upcoming redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, codenamed S550 internally. Earlier this month, we brought you the first spy photos of a next-gen Mustang prototype out testing, and even though expertly placed cladding concealed the pony car's new shape, we could tell that underneath was hiding an altogether new form inspired by the Evos Concept from 2011.
Today we give you some video of what looks to be the same Mustang prototype, which you can watch below, and while the budding director behind the camera wasn't able to capture much in the way of the engine's audio signature, we can see the car in motion for the first time and compare its relative size and shape to the S197 Mustang GT that's on its tail.

Ford's Mulally now said to be in lead for Microsoft CEO job

Sun, 29 Sep 2013

There have been rumors that Ford CEO Alan Mulally could assume the top job over at Microsoft, whose CEO, Steve Ballmer, will retire within the year. Mulally hasn't come out and said that he's considering moving to Microsoft after (or before) his contract with Ford through 2014 ends, but sources in the know say he's the front-runner to become the tech giant's CEO and has opened up to the idea more in recent weeks, AllThingsD reports.
Mulally is no stranger to Washington, where Microsoft is located, having worked in the state for Seattle-based Boeing Commercial Airplanes as CEO years ago. He also recently was an adviser to Ballmer in an effort to realign the company's management structure to help it become more competitive in a fast-changing computer hardware and software market. And when Ford developed its Sync digital interface, it tapped Microsoft to provide the operating system, Microsoft Auto. Perhaps the least crucial connection - but nonetheless an important one - is that Mulally still owns a house in the Seattle area, and it's been said he wants to return there, according to AllThingsD.
A main challenge Microsoft's next CEO will face is how to manage the company's numerous, fractured operations and, eventually, streamline them. But even on this front, Mulally has experience; after all, it was he who ushered in an era of global Ford vehicles, after the automaker had become complacent developing and selling vehicles by region leading up to the economic recession of 2008-2009.
