2004 Ford Focus Svt Hatchback 5-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
Up for sale is our 2004 SVT Ford Focus. This focus has been family owned since new. The car was purchased new from Paul Miller Ford on New Circle road in Lexington, KY. This focus is the 5 door model. It is blue with a black/blue interior. The car has a 2.0L engine paired to a 6 speed manual transmission. There is approximately 157k miles. We are still driving the car so that will continue to go up. Everything functions on this car as it should. The original owners manual and SVT book will come with the car. Two extra SVT rims will be included as well as 4 snow tires (one of them is probably shot. It developed an egg on the side wall this winter). It has a power sunroof, power locks, power windows, cruise control, and the Audiophile sound system. The sale also includes SVT documented certificate showing assembly 1/20/04, #517 of 1,079 produced. This car is a solid little car that will do between 30-33 MPG on the highway, if driven respectably. It handles very well and is a lot of fun to drive on the twisty roads. This car has not been raced, tuned or otherwise hotroded.
There are scratches and scrapes on this car so, if you are looking for a perfect car, do not contact me. The drivers side mirror is broken. You can get a replacement mirror on eBay for about $45.00. The front bumper has a few scratches above the driver's side fog lamp. The rear bumper also has a crack in it. I have pictures available showing these areas. Please message me with an email address and I would be more than willing to share with you. Again, if you are looking for a perfect car, do not waste my time. If you are looking for a car that will be reliable, fun to drive, and get good gas mileage, then this may be the car for you. This would make a great first car for someone or a great car for someone who is looking to commute and save some money. We are looking to sell this car before the end of the May so all serious offers will be considered. The car is currently titled/registered in New Mexico. Please look at the pictures and email me with questions. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required if 'Buy-it-Now' feature is used. Remainder of balance will be due in cash at time of pick up. Delivery may be possible. Message me if interested. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any point. |

Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.
Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
