Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, United States

2004 Ford Focus SVT R title

Purchased car with certificate of salvage; I am an SVT certified Ford Senior Master Tech and completed all work to make eligible for R title.

Clean car with low mileage, has been garage kept since I have owned it. Mobile 1 oil has been used and changed every 3,000 miles. Car is in very good condition for its age, there are nicks, scratches an as it is 10 years old.

Car has an aftermarket long tube header with test pipe, the test pipe doesn’t fit quite right.  You can hear it vibrating, it would need to be trimmed and refitted to fit properly.  Also the shift linkage needs to be adjusted; this is not noticed on regular driving but if doing spirited driving it is noticeable.  The skirt behind the right front tire is missing.  I do have it, it is new in box, just needs to be painted and put on.

One of the back seat covers has been replaced, the other one is in the car,I have not had an opportunity to change it yet. The driver's seat does have a small hole in it (see picture) I have not had an chance to replace it.   The check engine light is on because it has a long tube header on it and a test pipe -- no catalytic converter.

I do have the factory cat, it will be included with the sale of the car.

I also have another Getrag 6 speed transmission- if buyer is interested I can negotiate the transmission; if anyone is interested in the transmission please message me.

Tires do not have many miles on them but they are soft – Nitto Neo Gens.  I did put in an Alpine head unit with ipod interface. Factory sub does work.

I do not want to get rid of the car but need the garage space.  KI do have more pictures that I can email you.  Message me with any questions.

$500 due within 48 hours of auction ending via paypal (not refundable); remainder can be paid via cashier’s check or cash upon pick up of vehicle - would like pick up within 7 days of end of auction.  Local pick up only – no shipping provided.

Ford F-150 EcoBoost in NHTSA probe for acceleration issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

According to Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a probe into 400,000 Ford F-150 models over possible acceleration problems. According to the article, NHTSA has received 95 reports "alleging incidents of reduced engine power during hard accelerations" on 2011 to 2013 F-150 models equipped with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Automotive News reports that Ford has issued three technical service bulletins "related to intermittent stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise in humid or damp conditions," according to the government agency's documents. About one third of the 95 reports NHTSA has received cited humid or rainy conditions when these problems allegedly occurred.
These technical service bulletins have allowed dealers to address a "condition related to moisture accumulation in the charge air cooler during extended highway cruising at constant throttle in humid or damp conditions," AN reports, citing NHTSA documents. Furthermore, the TSB outlines details for "reprogramming the powertrain control module with the latest calibration and installing a new CAC and air deflector plate."

2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
