Extremely fuel-efficient. I drove from Arden, Ontario to Burlington, Ontario and back, and used just over a half-tank.

I had the braking module changed on it since I bought it used in 2012. I drove out west with it and back, in -30c weather in the winter time, and the brakes work great.

I had two minor front end collisions that were not the car's fault. One, because of tires and very bad road, and the other because of night-time driving. All Ford model parts replacement, no after market. Front bumper changed and some little things. I can provide a list for serious interest only.
I have gotten excellent Ford report cards on the car.

Interior charcoal fabric. Car starter, remote lock and factory alarm system, combination entry on driver's side, very beautiful rims, ambient lights under the side mirrors that show off the car, at night.

Very comfortable seating. Back seats all have adjustable headrests and good leg room. (I am tall!) It has all the bells and whistles, except for sunroof. Hands-free phone connection, digital display and computer plugins, satellite, 6 cd changer, driver and front passenger separate environmental controls, multiple power plugins for cell phone or anything that plugs into a cigarette lighter. BTW, this is a non-smoking vehicle.

This car does not need to be plugged in - ever - since I had it. It self charges when it runs. It is very quiet when in gas mode, and silent when in electric mode. It alternates on its own between modes, depending on your acceleration, or also, when it is idle. When idle, it will alternate every 10-12 minutes between modes.

I have kept up with oil changes. If you put the high-quality oil, you do not need to change it for about 10,000km. And I recommend going to Ford for tune-ups  - as this is their specialty car that they know well. It doesn't cost me more to go to a Ford dealer, in fact, they want to be competitive, so it has worked out for me.

This is the most fuel-efficient, one of the most comfortable, and one of the sexiest cars I have ever driven. My circumstances have changed and I need to sell it. This is a nice car for a professional or for your wife!

There is a lien on this car. Please email me for offers. Negotiable.

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.

Ford builds two-millionth EcoBoost engine

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup is only four years old, but it is growing into an important and popular global engine. As proof of its popularity, Ford just produced its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine - a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder - which rolled off the assembly line in Louisville, Kentucky under the hood of an Escape.
Ford now offers five EcoBoost engines around the world ranging from the 1.0-liter inline-three to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and the automaker is expanding production of two of its engine lines to keep up with demand. Earlier this year, Ford announced that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost would be built in Cleveland, Ohio starting in 2014 and, more recently, Ford said that it will be doubling production of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in Germany. That turbo-three will also be produced in China at a new Ford engine plant in Chongqing.
Scroll down for Ford's full press release on this EcoBoost production milestone, including a breakdown of where all the engines were made.
