"z Code" 1964 Galaxie 500 Convertable on 2040-cars
Aromas, California, United States
Clean California Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible. This is a factory "Z Code" 390 with automatic transmission. It has power assist steering and power windows which all are in working condition. This Galaxie 500 also has a power convertible top which works fine. It also has a new classic car radio which is AM/FM and mp3 compatible but looks like an AM radio and is designed for your iPod or other device to plug in. Tires have about 500 miles on them and were purchased new towards the end of 2013. This car underwent a complete restoration in the late 1990's and is still in great shape. Currently registered with personalized plates for the car. I get thumbs up and compliments whenever I take her out of the garage for a drive. The pictures speak for themselves. The car has been in California it's entire life, spending the first portion near Santa Barbara and now residing just north of Monterey. This car represents American classis cars when Detroit was proud. What a great way to send the summer!

Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]
Wed, 13 Feb 2013What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!
Find out if the Ford Fiesta ST can match Europe's latest hot hatches
Tue, 11 Feb 2014The V8 grunt of the Mustang has defined Ford performance cars in the US for the last 50 years, but in Europe, the Blue Oval has nearly as a long history of building some of the best hot hatches on the market with the Fiesta, Escort and later the Focus. The latest Fiesta ST has just hit the roads on both sides of the pond and has been enthusiastically received thanks to its combination of a peppy, turbocharged engine and hatchback utility.
However, Europe is getting a bumper crop of hot hatches at the moment, including the forthcoming, third-generation Mini Cooper S. Should Ford have waited to launch the ST until it knew how the competition performed? That's the answer that Xcar is after in its latest video, and it took the Fiesta to the track and some very misty, Welsh roads to find out. Scroll down to find out whether the ST stacks up.
J Mays' legacy
Fri, 15 Nov 2013
Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
