1957 Ford Custom 300 Sedan Hot Rat Rod Bomb California Kustom No Reserve!!! on 2040-cars

Year:1957 Mileage:1957
Location:

Sacramento, California, United States

You are looking at a real California Custom Cruiser that the whole family can enjoy! This 1957 Ford has the right "Kustom Kulture Look" The body is straight and solid shot in Grey high fill primer, ready for paint. It starts, drives and stops very well. It has a low mileage 292 cu in Y-Block engine with a new 2 barrel Holley carburetor, great on gas. The “Three on the Tree” Transmission shifts well. I have replaced the battery, coil, distributor cap, rotor, condenser, plugs wires, put an electric fuel pump on it, all wiring has been either replaced or fixed, new starter solenoid, new 12 Volt “One Wire alternator” conversion with custom brackets, put a cut off switch in for the battery it's under the dash so it's hidden installed it because these cars were easy to hot wire, radiator was removed flushed, new upper and lower hoses, all new vacuum hoses, water pump was replaced. Purrs like a kitten, runs like a cheetah, and stays cool like Fonzi.

This rare Model 300 Ford is a lowered ride with de-arched reversed eyed leaf springs and blocks in the back, lowering springs in the front. Brand new Radial White Wall Tires on 14" Black Steelies with original Ford hubcaps. The drivers side front flat door glass has a crack (not in drivers view), while the back window and the rest of the glass is crack free. New exhaust and gas tank. I built my own gas tank to match the old one exactly, replaced all gas lines and in have a new sending unit just haven't installed it yet, but included. The Brakes have a new master cylinder and rebuilt wheel cylinders, brakes were bled and adjusted, stops on a dime.

This "One of a Kind" Sedan has many new and upgraded parts, well over 10K invested!

The interior is very comfortable with new carpet, all trim was removed and painted, seats are all original but not in the best shape very small rips in the front and stained I've cleaned them up the best I could and don't look to bad, I have kept everything on the interior original so rear door panels have been cleaned and fixed, front door panels are usable and included they will need new chip board.

Originally sold in San Jose California and used as a Fed Service Car. It has all the holes in dash and room from where the CB radio and police lights were mounted. The holes in the roof were filled though so you can't see them from the outside. I also installed a custom bracket in the back seat for children car seats since there are no seat belts.

This is a California car and has always been to the best of my knowledge, a daily driver with clear California title. Visible Vin and Body Tags. I built this car for someone to just enjoy a nice daily driver or take it to shows it's not perfect it's not a trailer queen by any means but it's a cool car and there are not many around. Drive as is or restore it, must see to appreciate!!! CALL (916)308 zero eight seven 4 or message me for details

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

2015 Ford Mustang to make world debut on Dec. 5 [w/video]

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Between a bevvy of spy shots, speculative renders and insidery images from the halls of Car and Driver, we've got a pretty decent idea of what the 2015 Ford Mustang might look like. Still, we're excited to see the real deal as soon as possible.
Turns out that Ford has told us just when that first official look might come, too, although it has chosen somewhat of a backdoor fashion for dropping the news.
The video below popped up on the Ford Mustang YouTube channel this morning, promoting a social media effort called #MustangInspires on. The video and hashtag ask fans of the pony car to share pictures of the car - or "photographic stories of inspiration" - on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But the truly interesting part of the video description is that which mentions taking "the cover off the all-new Mustang" on December 5. Consider our calendars marked.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
