1959 Ford Galaxie 500 Skyliner. This is the last year for the FIRST retractable hardtop convertible. This is a beautiful running car with red/white paint and red/white interior. The car has new outer body panels and much of inner structure revised. The car has a 118” wheelbase, retractable hardtop (last year). This has never been advertised on eBay. The car manufactured in Mahwah NJ. The original color was gunsmoke gray & colonial white. The car is pictured with a 390, 4 barrel V8 but the original 332ci/225hp 2 barrel V8 is included (numbers matching with original engine). The Galaxie has PS, PB, PW, Power Seats, Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission, dual exhaust, side skirts, original luggage rack included, electronic ignition. This car is being sold as-is. This car comes from a collection of cars located in TN. There will be approximately 17 cars in this collection sold. The buyer will be given the clear title, bill of sale, letter from a local lawyer stating that you are responsible for paying any state sales tax to your local government. We will be available to help load the car and/or any parts. Buyer is responsible for all transportation of the vehicle along with cost (we will not make arrangements for transportation). While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.
