Up for auction is a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible!!! This car runs and drives great!!!  It has a 289 - 4 barrel with lots of power and an automatic transmission. It has new rear brake lines, new rear wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, and new brake hoses on all 4 wheels. All of the brake shoes and drums are in great shape and the front wheel bearings have been re-packed. It is pretty straight and the interior appears to be original. It still has the original radio in it. The odometer reads 60,663 and is probably the original mileage but I cannot confirm that. All of the glass is good and all of the windows crank up and down. The top works great!!! It is old but will keep water off of you. The body is rusty from the trim line down. And someone did some body work to it but did not do a very good job. It is in black primer and will need a lot of body work to make it a show car. The original X frame is scaly and has a couple small holes but they are fixable and do not effect the integrity of the frame. The doors close really nice and the car is very straight for it's age and condition. The floors and trunk also have some rust in them but are decent. The tires are old and one of them only holds air for a day or so. This is just a nice restorable car that you can have fun with and drive while you work on it. Just put some tires on it and enjoy it for what it is, or restore and have an awesome parade car!!!

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have before bidding!!! This is a no reserve auction and all bids are final!!! Thanks for looking and good bidding!!!

Please note: Winning bidder must arrange for transportation at their own cost!!! A $500.00 deposit will be required at the end of the auction and the full payment must be made within 7 days of end of auction or car will be relisted and no refund will be given on deposit. Transportation must be arranged within 14 days of end of auction!!!

Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Ford trademarking 'Mach 1,' possibly for Mustang

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

A legendary name might be accompanying the redesigned, 2015 Mustang when it finally makes its world debut - Mach 1. Stumbled upon by the team at Ford Authority, the Mach 1 title was found in a trademark filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and would revive a name last used on the fourth-generation, 2003 Mustang.
While the the 2003 vintage was well and good, the Mach 1 is really remembered for a three-year run from 1969 to 1971 - it's best to just forget the emissions-choked 1972 to 1978 Mach 1s - when power output ranged from a modest 250 horsepower with the two-barrel, 351-cubic-inch Windsor V8 to "375 hp" (actual output was rumored to be well north of 400 horsepower) with the righteous, 429-cubic-inch Super Cobra Jet V8.
What does the title hold for the sixth-generation Mustang? It's tough to say. The fanatics at Ford Authority seem to think Mach 1 could take the place of the Shelby GT500 at the top of the Mustang hierarchy, which sounds like a valid argument. At the same time, we could see the SVT Cobra moniker returning for the flagship model, and the Mach 1 doing battle with the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (unless the Boss 302 were to return). Confounding things is the historical precedent - the Mach 1 was responsible for the death of the Mustang GT in 1969, so it might make sense as a volume performance model.
