For sale is a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 with the very rare 7 Litre option. This car comes with it's original 428 which has been rebuilt along with it's matching C-6 transmission. The engine has been upgraded with a Cobra Jet cam, Edelbrock performer manifold , Hooker Super Comp headers, Crane electronic ignition and Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb. The alternator and power steering pump are new and the radiator has been rebuilt. Recent upgrades include a Hurst Quarter stick shifter, Turbo action valve body and Hurst line loc. The rear end is the original with traction loc and 4.11 gears and Hoosier 30" Drag Radials. The car has Crites fiberglass bumpers and hood but will come with 2 original hoods, one of which has the under hood light option. I have every piece of 7 Litre trim that will also come with the car(sorry no trunk spear). The car has brand new 7 Litre specific power disk brakes, all new drums, brake lines and the correct Kelsey Hayes rims up front. Other upgrades include a mechanical oil and temp guage (the original dash lights still work) new gas tank, body mount rubber, coil springs and Spohn lower and upper control arms (the originals will come with the car). I currently present the car as a Nostalgia B/FX 60's era race car but anything removed from the car has been saved and can be re installed. This car has run in the low 14's with 1.80 sixty foot times with a 5100 RPM rev limiter to protect the original drive train. The car was recently displayed at the York Nostalgia Nationals. 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible shown on Twitter [UPDATE w/video]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013It hasn't yet been 12 hours since the hotly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang has been let out into public view. After a series of evocative leaks over the course of the last days, we brought you a full deep dive of the sixth-generation pony car at the dawning of today. And yet, here we are rushing to bring you news of a new Mustang variant, already.
Be it part of a plan to keep the Mustang fervor at full boil, or a misunderstood email somewhere in the chain of command, Ford UK has unceremoniously tweeted a picture of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. For a newly global Mustang, getting our first look at the droptop from the convertible-crazy British does make some amount of sense.
As for details, well, you're looking at them. Brandon Turkus reported yesterday that the Mustang 'vert would make use of a fully electric convertible mechanism, and that it would be of fabric construction rather than some kind of retractable hardtop. We see here that the fabric part is clearly true, and it does look as though Ford may still be employing the same kind of manually attached tonneau cover that exists right now. Of course, our view from this angle isn't great, and the particulars are still up in the air.
Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.
