Up for bids is a very nice 1968 Ford LTD Galaxie Brougham.  I would say it is in good overall shape.  I bought this car to tinker with but I don't get to drive it much so I am selling it.  Car can be used as a daily driver or can be fully restored.  The car has a great sounding 390 V-8 engine which runs great.  The transmission shifts fine.  Tires look to be new and the car cruises at 75 mph with no shakes or bumps.  Headliner is like new and interior is in better than average shape.  Front driver seat has two very small holes which could easily be sewed and it looks like maybe there is some gum in one spot.  Carpet is in great shape.  Dash has some minor waves but no cracks.  Woodgrain looks great.  All windows roll up and down fine.  A great bonus on this car is that the old outdated A/C has been upgraded to a new R-134 system that blows ice cold.  AM radio still works fine.  Everything that I can see is there with no missing buttons or parts.  When I bought the car it had a $1500.00 chrome package to redo the cars chrome in a never opened tube.  I will be including this.  I never opened the package but was told it was enough to redo the car.  The hideaway headlights doors still work like they should.  I was told when I bought the car that a new set of headers was just installed.

Here are the things I know that are wrong with the car.  Heat and defroster do not work.  The paint looks great from about 5 feet away but does have a few imperfections in it as I have tried to show in the photos.  I believe at one time this car was white and has been painted red.

All in all this car could be used as a daily driver without doing one thing to it.  Get in and drive it home.  Call or text Lee at 843-230-6963 with questions or to test drive.

Rowan Atkinson crashes at Goodwood Revival

Sun, 14 Sep 2014

To quote Harry Hogge (played by Robert Duvall) in Days of Thunder, "rubbin, son, is racin'." That can mean some unfortunate damage to high-end racing machinery, which may be repaired easily enough in stock car racing, but when it comes to vintage racing, the stakes can be that much higher. And yet incidents do occur, like at this weekend's Goodwood Revival.
Among the many competitors taking part in the retro racing event in England was none other than Rowan Atkinson, the actor perhaps best known for playing Mr. Bean. Driving a classic Ford Falcon Sprint in the Shelby Cup event, Atkinson (pictured above at the 2012 revival) reportedly crashed head-on into another car on track.
According to reports, the two cars up spun out. The driver in between managed to avoid a pile-up, but Atkinson couldn't steer clear and hit the obstructing vehicle. Fortunately Rowan walked away unscathed (and, we imagine, in a humorous manner), but while we don't know how extensive the damage was to the Falcon, it was enough to take it out of the race.

Ford to hack $4k off price of Focus EV amid slow sales

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

Between slow sales and a hefty price drop for its nearest rival, the Ford Focus Electric may be looking at a pretty substantial price cut. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will drop the price of the all-electric by about $4,000 to $35,200 to be more competitive with the Nissan Leaf, which received a big price cut for 2013 down to $28,800.
Ford has already admitted to having low expectations for the car's sales and massive rebates were reported earlier in the year, but there is still no official word from Ford on this matter. The company's consumer site still lists the 2014 model's starting price as $39,200. In addition to the Leaf, the Focus Electric will also have to deal with the lower prices of smaller EVs including the Honda Fit EV, Fiat 500e and the Chevrolet Spark EV.

2015 Ford Mustang revs it up at Cars & Coffee

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Just because the new 2015 Ford Mustang has officially been released, you didn't think that would be the end of the matter - did you? Of course not. There'll still be plenty of rumors, reports and video footage to bring you. Like this, the first non-official footage of the new pony car in the wild.
Shot by YouTube user SotA1080 and dug up by our friends at CarBuzz, this clip shows the new Mustang posing for photos (alongside other Mustangs) and starting up its engine at the most recent gathering of Cars & Coffee in Irvine, CA. And this being the GT model, it's not packing the V6 or the turbo four, but the red-blooded 5.0-liter V8 that tells us and enthusiasts worldwide that the new Mustang has not lost its way. Scroll on down to watch the footage for yourself.
