1974 FORD LTD 2 door hardtop, red, recent white vinyl top replacement by professional shop, black int. approx. 35,000 miles, 400 cu V8, 3 speed automatic, P/S, P/B, A/C but not functioning, AM radio, cornering lights that are not currently connected, power trunk release button in glove box, original Ford floor mat in front, always garaged, no rust, appears to have been rustproofed, see plug in door jamb photo, excellent shape, a true time capsule, drives like it should, trans shifts fine, recent tires, new radiator, new brake master cylinder, recent dual exhaust with flow master type mufflers, sounds good but not quiet with factory style tailpipes. Original wheel covers included, as well as dealer brochure, and 5 volume shop manual set from 1974.There are a few door dings if you look close enough that could be removed by paint-less dent removal service. I purchased the car in July 2008 with 32,458 miles, and it currently shows 35,136, which equates to 2,678 miles or 535 miles per year in the last 5 years. Title shows miles as actual miles. Enjoyable car to own, drive, and show. Being sold as is, so please make sure to look at the photos closely before you buy! Buyer responsible for pick up within 7 days of auction unless other arrangements made, deposit of $500 due at end of auction via PayPal, and balance due by cash or cashier’s check within 7 days of auction end. Ford to hack $4k off price of Focus EV amid slow sales
Wed, 10 Jul 2013Between slow sales and a hefty price drop for its nearest rival, the Ford Focus Electric may be looking at a pretty substantial price cut. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will drop the price of the all-electric by about $4,000 to $35,200 to be more competitive with the Nissan Leaf, which received a big price cut for 2013 down to $28,800.
Ford has already admitted to having low expectations for the car's sales and massive rebates were reported earlier in the year, but there is still no official word from Ford on this matter. The company's consumer site still lists the 2014 model's starting price as $39,200. In addition to the Leaf, the Focus Electric will also have to deal with the lower prices of smaller EVs including the Honda Fit EV, Fiat 500e and the Chevrolet Spark EV.
Hear the 2015 Mustang GT V8 roar for the first time
Wed, 26 Jun 2013Our combined knowledge of the 2015 Ford Mustang continues to deepen, as spy shooters have begun to compile video and audio of the upcoming sixth-generation car.
Case in point is this latest series of video clips, which not only gives us a great vantage point of the Mustang in motion, but also allows us to hear the Ford V8 engine and exhaust. After perusing the aural delights of this short video, which, admittedly, doesn't catch the Mustang GT at full song, we can at least say that the throaty exhaust isn't disappointing.
Chances are good that the 2015 Mustang GT will debut with some version of the current (and excellent) Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, though we're unclear as to whether or not the motor has been massaged for its next-gen debut, or what may have been done to exhaust plumbing. At this point, we're just happy to hear the pony run. Scroll below to hear for yourself.
Ford cuts 950 Russian jobs on weak demand
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The Russian auto market, in decline for the past year and further hit by the declining value of the ruble and recent sanctions over its annexation of Crimea, has forced Ford to cut jobs and shifts at two of its joint venture plants there. Around 700 of the 2,700 total workers who build the Russian-market Focus and Mondeo will be cut at the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg as it drops to a single production shift. A second plant about 700 miles away in Yelabuga, in the Tartarstan region, will lose 250 workers. That plant builds seven vehicles, including the Explorer, Kuga and Edge.
The Moscow Times says Ford has been especially hit by the market decline, the overall market losing 5.5 percent in 2013 compared to the year before, but Ford sales dropping 18 percent in 2013 year-on-year. This year isn't going any better, with The Blue Oval posting a 21-percent decline through the first two months of 2014. That's why, though the Yelabuga plant builds the CUVs that customers are moving into, even it is facing cuts.
The job cuts in Vsevolozhsk come on top four-week plant shutdown planned so that the paint and body shops can go to one shift. In a statement, the company said, "Ford Sollers remains absolutely committed to the Russian market and is confident it has the right product plan, people and assets to deliver long-term profitable growth."
