I BELEIVE THIS TO BE A 1928 MODEL A SPEEDSTER . IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF A TOTAL MAKE OVER BUT THE PERSON DOING THE WORK PASSED AWAY. I WAS TOLD THE MOTOR WAS GONE THROUGH AND THE CLUTCH AND THROW OUT BEARING WAS REPLACED.. LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE CARB WAS REDONE OR REPLACED THE POINTS AND ROTOR ARE NEW. NEW. LOOKS LIKE ALL BUSHINGS ALL IN THE LINKAGE HAS BEEN REPLACED. I BELEIVE EVERYTHING NEEDED TO COMPLETE THIS CAR IS HERE EXCEPT THE SEATS, BATTERY WHICH IS A 6 VOLT SYSTEM. AND WIRING. AND MISC PARTS. I HAVE ALL THE HARDWARE TO FINISH THE BODY. I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED. TIRES AND RIMS LOOK NEW. I DO HAVE THE WOODEN DASH AND MOST OF THE GUAGES THAT GO IN IT. I DIDNT INSTALL IT. IT WILL BE EASIER TO WORK ON IT OUT OF THE CAR. I PICKED THIS CAR UP SATURDAY MORNING. WHEN I GOT IT IT WAS JUST A FRAME AND FLOOR BOARD. I SPENT ALL WEEKEND PUTTING IT TOGETHER. Ford unveils Mustang 50th anniversary logo, plans merchandise
Tue, 26 Mar 2013The Ford Mustang turns 50 years old this year, and this is the logo that will announce the milestone occasion on a special line of merchandise. The graphic is the result of an internal design competition, and Ford will give 50 different companies the license to use it on traditional logo merchandise like shirts and watches, along with some untraditional items like pinball machines.
Ford is going to begin the celebrations at this week's New York Auto Show and continue them throughout the year, but April 17 is the official birthday of the the pony car that just won't quit. You can expect to start seeing anniversary merchandise in the next couple of weeks.
Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
Ford bringing adaptive steering to the masses [w/video]
Thu, 29 May 2014Within the next year, Ford will offer a brand-new adaptive steering system (unimaginatively dubbed "Ford Adaptive Steering"), and this week, the automaker invited us out to its proving grounds in Dearborn, MI to get a taste for how its new setup works. In function, Ford's system doesn't greatly differ from the majority of other adaptive steering units already on the market from companies like Audi or BMW, but consider this: Ford will be the first non-luxury automaker to offer this technology, and uniquely, the whole system fits inside the car's steering wheel.
Ford's engineers have worked hard to create a system that can be tacked on to the company's full lineup of cars, trucks and utility vehicles, and says that the adaptive steering will be uniquely tuned for each specific vehicle. The automaker will not confirm exactly which vehicle will launch with this technology, but for the purpose of our preview, we tested the technology in a 2014 Fusion - a vehicle with already-good behind-the-wheel feel, one that the company says best demonstrates its current steering efforts.
