Very rare 1929 Ford Woody Replica, this model is called a Sprinter. Built in 1980 & titled as a 1980 Sprinter, manufactured by a company called Sprinter Auto Works, Inc., in Plymouth, Indiana. This is a very well built car, built on a Chevy Chevette frame with a 4 cylinder Chevy engine, and automatic transmission, 4 seats, lots of inside room, with headroom for a 6' 2" driver. This car features rare dual side mounted spare tires, 6 chrome rims with wire baskets, am/fm radio, new padded roof, 2 rear doors, tilt front windshield, wipers, dual amber fog lights, antique styled moto meter hood ornament with wings & temp gauge, very solid Crome bumpers, wood steering wheel, Model A Ford tail lights, running boards, & gorgeous Ash & Birch wood inside & out. This is a nice heavy car at 2100 pounds, 147" long, 63.5" wide, 94.5" wheelbase, 63" high, & 5" road clearance. Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
Ford supports bid for Detroit Rallycross race with Motown-minded Fiesta ST vid
Mon, 01 Jul 2013As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
With Ford Racing driver Andreas Eriksson behind the wheel, this Fiesta ST lays down some serious rubber atop Detroit's Cobo Hall parking structure, at Belle Isle and around the Michigan Central Depot. Detroit isn't alone in the bid for a three-year X Games contract as Chicago, Austin and Charlotte are also hoping to play host. The winning host city is expected to be announced this summer. Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]
Sat, 18 Jan 2014We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
