Up for auction is a 1930 Ford Model A 3 window. I am listing this vehicle for my father. He will be the contact person. This is a very nice driver. The vehicle was restored about 15 years ago and has been well taken care of since. The vehicle still has the original motor and transmission. The vehicle still looks good and runs great. The engine sounds very good. A new carburetor has been installed to keep with the upkeep of the vehicle. The paint still shines and looks good and there is no rust on top or underneath to speak of. The running boards are my favorite part of these vehicles. They give it an added dimension that you just don't see anymore. This is truly a very solid automobile and you are getting it at a great price. The glass is in great condition as well as the chrome. I would say that the tires are in average condition. The vehicle drives straight down the road and does not have any problems stopping or going. As you can see by the pictures, the interior is still in very nice condition and looks like new. From what I can tell, all of the lights and signals work properly. The car is a lot of fun to drive. When something like this is on the road, everybody seems to notice. This would be a very nice car for grandma and grandpa to take their grandchildren for a ride in and reminisce about the good ole' days.
The vehicle has a clear title and is in his company's name. Any sale to a non-dealer may be subject to your state's applicable sales tax rate. He is located in Ohio and, depending on your home state, the sales tax may need to be paid here in Ohio. The title will then be put in your name and then you will need to tile it in your home state. The sales tax only gets paid once. Terms are as follows: $2000.00 down payment is due within 72 hours of auctions end with the balance paid in full within 7 days of the auctions end. Methods of acceptable payment are cash, certified funds, money orders, or wire transfer. All funds must clear the bank before vehicle will be released. No exceptions. Vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is with shipping the responsibility of the winning bidder. The vehicle can be stored in his shop for up to 2 weeks after the auction ends as long as it is paid in full. If you need extra time, I'm sure something can be worked out. He is easy to work with. There are no warranties either expressed or implied and I reserve the right to end the auction early. The vehicle is available for inspection. Either email or call Roy @ 419-302-8510. He can help with any questions that you may have. Vehicle is being stored indoors in a heated garage and can be seen anytime throughout the week. Thank you for your interest in this Model A.

Ford builds two-millionth EcoBoost engine
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup is only four years old, but it is growing into an important and popular global engine. As proof of its popularity, Ford just produced its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine - a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder - which rolled off the assembly line in Louisville, Kentucky under the hood of an Escape.
Ford now offers five EcoBoost engines around the world ranging from the 1.0-liter inline-three to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and the automaker is expanding production of two of its engine lines to keep up with demand. Earlier this year, Ford announced that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost would be built in Cleveland, Ohio starting in 2014 and, more recently, Ford said that it will be doubling production of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in Germany. That turbo-three will also be produced in China at a new Ford engine plant in Chongqing.
Scroll down for Ford's full press release on this EcoBoost production milestone, including a breakdown of where all the engines were made.
Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Maybe so. The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
Ford idling Michigan Assembly Plant to trim Focus, C-Max supply
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Ford will be putting the brakes on production at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, MI, idling production during the weeks of October 28 and December 16. Ford is citing the first drop in US sales in 27 months, a 4.2-percent dip in September, as the impetus for trimming their supplies, according to Automotive News.
Ford's deft management of its supplies has been part of its success over the years, and seeing supplies of Focus and C-Max, the two vehicles built at MAP, rise from 58 and 108 days, respectively, to 71 and 122 days over the span of a month was apparently all that was need to justify the trimming. As AN points out, the rule of thumb for many automakers is to maintain a 60-day supply of vehicles.
"Ford has been focused on keeping their pricing in check. Their operating margin is in double digits. Nobody else is there and they're obviously very proud of that," Alan Baum, an auto analyst with Baum & Associates told AN. Keeping the supply chain operating smoothly and not increasing supplies too much is crucial to that healthy profit margin. After all, a large supply lowers prices ,which, in turn, cuts profit. So while this news might not be great for employees at MAP, who now have an extra two weeks of vacation time, it's far from a sign of problems in Dearborn. Quite the opposite, actually.
