Model A Sedan Demo

Model A Sedan Ride

Up for bid is a 1930 Deluxe Town Fordor Sedan that has undergone a complete high quality body off nut & bolt restoration to a very high degree. I have owned this car for about seven years and purchased the car a few of years after restoration from the man who did it. I had sold the car to a friend for his museum collection in New Jersey and he only had the car a few years when I purchased it back from him. Except for starting the car and moving it from time to time not to sit in one spot it was hardly used and very few miles have been put on the car. This car never saw the rain and every time I used it I went over the car from top to bottom detailing inside and out. This car was restored from a great example using the original Ford Model A color of Ford Maroon for the body with a black roof and belt line and black fenders with aurora red wheels with vermillion red pin stripe as per judging standards as was the entire car. This body is strait as an arrow with great door fit with no sagging or anything and these doors close like a new car and line up perfect. This is of course an all steel car with every Ford option at the time when new with dual side mount’s, dual side mount mirrors, cowl lights, moto-meter with the wings, Ford Script windup rear view clock mirror, stone guard, deluxe luggage rack with the correct contoured trunk that is made for this body style, Firestone white wall tires, like new with the correct metal tire stems as per judging standards, all the correct shades on the three windows, pull straps and the correct LeBaron Bonney brown town sedan mohair interior with the rear fold down center arm rest including the two side arm rest as well as the correct interior dome light that works of course. I have a traffic finder and compass as well in the car. There are directional signals properly installed for safety and the original pop-out ignition that works great is still in the car and gone threw when the restoration was done. The engine was done to a high level using the correct valves for unleaded fuel and all balanced and is one of the best running engines I have ever had in a Model A car in over 40 years of owning these lovely cars. The transmission shifts smooth and the steering is tight and does not wonder. I have also installed a hood prop inside for ease of having the hood staying in place and an air cleaner is on the correct Zenith carburetor that was just rebuilt. This car has never overheated on me no matter how hot it may get and will always run cool. Everything is in top working order and just recently the horn stopped working but I found out what it was. The horn itself is perfect but the soldered tip on the horn rod down at the box came off so that will be the only thing that needs to be done unless I can do it before its sold, if not I will make an allowance for the purchase of a new horn rod. Overall this car is a show quality automobile and ready to tour at a moments notice without hesitation that rides and drives like a quality Model A should and will score well and is one of the nicest examples of a town sedan you will find both in restoration, color , body fit, etc. You could take this car to an AACA event and with little detailing still come in the running and win a prize. As you can see I took the movie and pictures before the weather turned colder but waited before putting it on Ebay as I thought I was getting a building to put my collection but that feel through so now I must make room or I would never have put this car up for sale. Best of luck to all.

My phone number should you need any further details is; 914-413-3092

I also have a couple of other transporters that I have used as well and have found them also very good to deal with should you wish to get a comparison. One of them is “Stooney’s Transport”, Ask for Noel DeMarsico at ; 908-966-1127 cell.

The next one is Kevin O’Neill, D.K.R. Enterprises, Enclosed Transportation at 201-317-3262 cell, DKR595@comcast.net

The final carrier is “Town to Town Transporting”, ask for Rich Letterer at 1-802-375-9244 or 1-802-375-5117, he is a private carrier who I recommend and will travel within 400 miles from the New York area. Give any of these carriers a call and give them my name and zip code above and your information so you can get an exact quote door to door.

I invite each and every one of you who are truly interested in bidding on this fine car to see it for yourself and to ask questions should you have any details you wish to know about and I will be happy to help in anyway I can.

New car market raining on convertibles' parade

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
