Wonderful 1919 Ford Model TT with a 1926 engine and transmission. Truck runs and has a two stage ruxtal rear end. This truck is clean and neat.

I have converted the box for use as a photography studio so it has three separate sections for the box. The box in made of 1/2 inch white oak but I also have the original (at least what I believe is the original) box that is shown in the older photo (all black) of the truck. Both boxes are included in this sale. The box that is mounted on the truck now can be swapped out for the original box very easily. Section 1 of the box is approximately 12" x 6'8". Section 2 of the box is approximately 18" x 5'. Section 3 of the box is approximately 4' x 6'6". The box is approximately 4' high throughout.

This is a great truck for the hobbyist. You can make the box into whatever use you want. I currently use it as a photo studio for antique photography. Section 1 of the box is my old west bar, Section 2 is my area for developing photos (hence the white curtain that you see in the photos), and Section 3 is used for equipment storage. The box area can be easily rearranged for a different application.

The engine has been (within the last 10 miles) thoroughly cleaned inside and out.
  • The commutator (distributor) is new, as are the plugs and plug wires.
  • The two kerosene lamps are not original to this year of Model TT but they look good and are complete.
  • The head gasket is new.
  • The carburetor is a new factory rebuilt.
  • The radiator leaks a little out of the top, but has never bothered me driving it as much as I liked.
  • The frame and engine have been sand blasted and repainted in the past year.
  • The front fenders have a few small dents that you can see in the pictures. The dents do not detract from the presentation of the truck.
  • The top covers of the cab and the box are new.
  • The seat and backrest of the interior of the cab are new.
The license plate mounted on the radiator is on an authentic antique Ford bracket and the tag itself is a 1919 tag from Kansas.

There is an electrical outlet in each of the three sections (compartments) of the box. You just have to plug an extension cord in at the left rear of the cab (as shown in one of the pics) and all of the three outlets are then available for use.

The decorative stuff that is in the primary picture is not part of this auction; just wanted to show how I use Section 1, the old west bar.

Ford will build Hackmobile out of Transit Connect Wagon

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

What you see in the above image is a rendering of the Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon. What is that? It's a "mobile fabrication and hacking unit" that includes tools for metal- and woodworking, 3D and electronics fabrication, a three-axis CNC machine called "The Fabber," a video projector and screen, an air compressor, an 84x48-inch work surface that folds out like a Murphy bed and oh so much more. When not in use, all of the implements fold neatly into the back of Ford's award-winning van.
But perhaps the more important question is why is that? Because Make Magazine held an Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge in conjunction with Ford in which ten teams created were charged with creating "the ultimate Ford Transit Connect Wagon for the do-it-yourself enthusiast." Team Twin Cities Maker won the competition with the Hackmobile, and in addition to winning $10,000, Ford has declared it's actually going to build the thing - which is great, because if they can actually engineer a road-legal Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon as envisioned, the inevitable A-Team movie reboot might need to think about including it.
Check out the video below for a cheeky walk-through of the Hackmobile, and get all the particulars in the press release below that.

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.

Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology

Tue, 20 Apr 2010

In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?
