This listing is for a 1966 Mustang "A" code G.T. Fastback Project or Parts car. This listing is for U.S. BIDDERS ONLY !!!!!! I am a long time Mustang owner, collector, restorer. This is a rolling shell, with MASSIVE amounts of ROT. If someone were to attempt to restore this car they would basically need to weld in all new metal ( Frames, floors, cowls, Full quarters, wheelhouses, etc.,etc.etc.) It needs everything. I cannot list every piece that it needs, it is a bare rolling shell, If you see a part in the photos please assume it's bad and if you don't see a part in the photos please assume it's not there(there's no wiring,no interior, drivetrain, etc.) .
I purchased this a while back thinking I would part it out or possibly restore it "One Day". I no longer have the Time, Space, or desire to do that so I am offering it up for sale, I am starting the bidding cheap with no reserve as It's time to move on. I bought this as a non rolling shell, I put a bare 8 inch rear housing and 5 lug axles out of another 66 to make it rollable (there is no center section or rear brake parts). The only numbers I can find on the car are on the door tag,They decode as follows (this was a pretty sweet car when new).I can not find any numbers under the hood,I fear they are lost to rust.

Warranty Number: 6T09A

Trim:66Black Crinkle Vinyl, Pony Interior
Date:07
D.S.O:11Boston
Axle:13.00:1, Conventional
Trans:54-Speed Manual

I know it's possible that the door was swapped but looking at photos # 5 & 6 ( dual exhaust reinforcements and foglight wiring holes in radiator support)  tells me it was A G.T. This car appears to have been a shelby clone in it's past life as it has fiberglass: quarter scoops,"R" model valence and a lift off hood. I am including a new pair of full length floors for the car although if one were to restore it they would probably want to go with a 1 piece. The winner does not have to take the new floors if they don't want them, the original floors were cut out at some point. This car is located in NEW YORK Zip code 10547. This is a cash at pickup sale. I paid cash for the car I will not accept any form of check, wire transfer, electronic payment, etc. CASH ONLY. Winning bidder is responsible for transport, this car should be towed on a full trailer or better yet with a flatbed. This car is being sold "AS IS"  "WHERE IS" . With a Bill of sale only This car has NO TITLE Ebay made me put an entry in the title section N.Y. Requires only a transferable registration which I DO NOT HAVE. If I had kept the car to restore I had planned on using a title service to register the car. The winning bidder will need to figure out what paper work is required by their state. I strongly suggest any potential bidders to email me with any questions or better yet come and view the car before bidding. I would like the car paid for and picked up within a reasonable time period after the auction has ended (approx. 7 days ) ,weekdays work best for pickup for me. If the car is not picked up within a timely fashion there will be storage charges of $100 per week unless the buyer and I have worked out a pickup arrangement beforehand.Sadly I have to write this because I had a car sell on ebay a while back and the buyer didn't pick it up for 2 MONTHS...... This car is being shown and advertised locally as well, so I do deserve the right to end the listing early.Fastbacks are only getting harder to find so don't miss out on a cheap project or parts car. Thanks for looking and good luck.

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.

RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.
