1967 Ford Mustang Convertible The car came from the factory equipped with: A Code Auto Trans, P/S, Power top, A/C, deluxe seat belts, turn signal hood. The car has both its door tag and buck tag present. The convertible runs and drives. Car is used as a local local weekend driver. Is tagged and insured as a PA Antique (the tag is transferable to a PA resident). The interior is in decent shape and complete. All lights, gauges, horn, heater wiper and radio worked last time out. The glass is clear most probably original. All windows roll up and down. A/C interior parts are present, some are missing under the hood. The floors and inner rockers were repaired in the mid 80's and are solid. The motor is not original it now has a 289 2 BBL. It has fair power, doesn't smoke and has not been rebuilt.  I replaced the original radiator, it is included if you want it. Fuel system has been cleaned, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, fuel tank and sending unit installed. The drum brake system has been renewed as needed. The frame work of the.car is in nice shape as you can see in the pictures. I don't see any repairs needed there. The paint at best is 6 out of 10. The lower quarters are showing rust. The convertible power top work good, the top has tears on the sides and is old. The grill is off 68 Mustang. I will include the original 67 grill bar and running horse. Also included is a nice turn signal hood. The one on the car needs to be replaced. I will switch it out if you like. The pictures show the true condition of the car. I would not drive it a great distance as the tires are from the 1990's. You may inspect this car in our yard. Leave me a contact number and I will return your call.

Ford C-Max sales hold steady despite fuel economy fracas

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

Despite the ballyhoo that accompanied Ford's lowering of the C-Max fuel economy figures, the Blue Oval is still seeing strong demand for the five-seat MPV, as Automotive News reports. Speaking to marketing boss Jim Farley, AN says that the controversy surrounding the C-Max's fuel economy figures won't force Ford to change its marketing strategy.
Ford lowered the fuel economy rating of the C-Max after public outcry and legal action by customers that were unable to reach the 47 miles per gallon promised by the window sticker. The new ratings were dropped about a month ago to 45 mpg on the freeway and 40 mpg in the city. Ford offered rebates for current C-Max owners, with $550 going to those that bought their car and $325 to lessees. The issue, says Ford, stemmed from testing standards that allowed the automaker to base the C-Max's fuel economy on the Fusion Hybrid, because they use identical powertrains. The C-Max's less aerodynamic shape wasn't taken into account, though.
Whether Ford's PR team handled the crises perfectly or people just aren't that bothered by a four-mpg drop in combined ratings, demand remains strong for the C-Max among consumers. Ford moved 3,000 units in August, which was a 12-percent jump over July sales. Meanwhile, consumer demand through third-party shopping websites remains strong as well, according to Autometrics, a data analysis company that spoke with Automotive News. While the long-term effects of the adjustments remain unknown, the C-Max appears to have fared well in the near term.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.

Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.
