Oak Ridge, Pennsylvania, United States
1968 Mustang GT 500 recreation is a almost as close as your going to get as a Shelby w/o the serial numbers and paying over hundred thousand dollars... it has a 390 in it and a competition cam, forged pistons 30 over. Holleys 770 ultra street adventure, automatic performaance dominator level 3 w a shift kit transmission overdrive & a 2800 stall convertor by Patco Transmission out of Texas. The motor and trans. has less than a 1000 miles on it. Power steering, power brakes and AC,. As you can see by pics the interior is clean, all gauges work.I installed a water temperature gauge and a oil pressure to the left of column, and down lower in the center is a transmission temperature, Tach, pressure gauge, as well as a full time vacuum gauge, also a new suspension system with Blisten shocks and coil, and leaf springs. The car rides nice and smooth even over 70 mph....

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of
Tue, 17 Dec 2013One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.
