1969 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE

                        WILL ADD MORE PHOTOS SATURDAY
I have for sale a 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible, this is a M code 4 speed car which has spent almost its whole life in Washington State until I purchased about 3 years ago. This car has many options and is 1 of 198 convertibles with the 351W 4 bbl and 4 speed toploader. It is a true 1 of 1 with the candy apple red and tachometer. I have owned over (100) 69/70 mustangs and of those about 30 were convertibles. I kept this one in my collection due to how rock solid the underneath was, the best by far of all the convertibles I owned. I was planning on make a Shelby GT 350 convertible clone due to the color and the drivetrain, it was correct for a Shelby Gt 350. My plans have changed so now I have it up for sale.

THE CONS: This car has been sitting in my garage for about 3 years and before that 1 or 2 years,so the brakes would need to be gone through, the pedal is low and the brake light is on,I see that the front pads need to be changed but may need bleeding and rear brakes? It will need an E. brake setup, one top hold down clip which I have. I would just go through the maintenance since it has been sitting. The interior is not in bad shape I would redo the driver's seat due to wear,It should not need much to be a nice driver. The body is in real nice shape but there are few small spot of bubbling on the corner of the doors,a spot on the rear quarter but overall very nice shape. The door lights do not work but i think it is a fuse, just have not gone through car had too many projects I was dealing with. There is a hole in the inner fender panel underneath the battery tray due to battery acid that is the only metal that needs a patch. The car was painted blue over the candyapple paint and you can see signs of the red paint, underhood, trunk, ect. The driver's window would have to be reglued rolls up and down but off the track a bit. This car would not need much to make it a show car,it is how far you want to go with it, but it is a investment grade vehicle. This vehicle will have to be trailored or picked up by transport it is not road ready till it has been gone through.

THE PROS: This is a M code 4 speed Candy apple Red deluxe interior, exterior Convertible, with many options and it is not a GT!! The motor runs strong, have not driven since owned just up and down driveway.I been looking on ebay for a car like this for 15 years and I have never see one since. The underneath is rock solid, it that is the most important aspect on a convertible since it does not have a roof for total support and the most costly of repairs. The tach and clock both work. The car comes with new chrome wheels, lug nuts, wheel locks, starter. The trunk is rock solid.door shut nice no sag, just a nice solid vehicle!! I do have a clear title and the Marti report. I will be offering a buy it now, if it is used I will include many new and OEM parts to go with the car.

Shipping is the buyers responsibility, I do have contacts so I can get you a great price on shipping. I will ship internationally and I can get a great price to transport it to the nearest port. I require a $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end,and balance within 5 days, if buy it now is used then a $500 deposit is due immediatly.

This vehicle is SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTIES IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED!! I reserve the right to end auction early. If you want to see more photos or have questions you can email me through ebay or call me at 860-830-9204 Ray

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
