1971 MACH 1

Very clean unmolested 71 Mach 1...This is a REAL MACH 1 not a "creation" Yellow over black, 351 Cleveland automatic 92,000 miles. Car runs & drives well & has been garaged for years. Not driven very much so it could use a tune up. Motor is original with the exception of ignition accessories. Interior is in nice shape, has aftermarket speakers in the back. Body is in extremely good condition. Very small amounts of rust near the rear wheel well on both driver & passenger side as well as a little under the trunk lid. Paint looks great as well but is NOT show quality by any means. There is small some paint blistering on the passenger side near the top of the window on the roof line. It is a driver & has been thoroughly enjoyed..never beat on, raced or abused....This car is not all "dolled" up to sell with rattle can paint tricks. Car was left it as is for all to see... its a very clean, original, garaged MACH 1, that would take very little to be awesome. Feel confident bidding on this solid car. Too many toys & not enough room. Lost garage space due to wife's new car  & I do not want to leave this car sit outside in the elements. Check my feedback...no problems EVER...my reserve is set very reasonably so bid to win!! Car is located in Savannah, GA  & can be seen at anytime. It is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime.

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

MyFord Touch getting second update, extended warranty

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

There is no doubt that Ford has had its hands full fielding complaints with its MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems these days, but looking to keep its customers happy, Ford is once again upgrading its infotainment systems and extending the warranties. Despite having just sent out updates for its systems back in March, Automotive News says that customers are still complaining about the speed and ease of use.
Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Previously, the systems were covered under basic warranties (three-year, 36,000-mile for Ford and four-year, 60,000-miles for Lincoln).
What is being referred to as "version 3.5" for the MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems will be mailed out (or downloaded) next month for owners of cars without navigation and in January for cars with nav. Owners of hybrids, plug-ins and electric vehicles will get the update sometime in the first quarter of next year.
