up for bids is my drag 1989 ford mustang coupe. its an original V8 car, clean tittle. the only issue with this car is a bad number 1 piston, it has really low compression. it might need a new short block or at least a rebuilt. the short block is a stock 5.0. it has aluminum SVO heads with comp cams 1.7 roller rockers. lunati cam, unknown specs. edelbrock RPM2 intake, 75mm spacer, BBK cold air intake and a pro M 75mm MAF. ford racing shorty headers with BBK X pipe and magnaflow mufflers. transmission is a freshly rebuilt Hughes transmission with a manual, reverse patter valve body, transbrake, trans shield and B&M ratchet shifter. this thing shifts beautifully firm and perfect. rear end has new 4.10 gears and alloy forged axels. Taylor battery relo kit, and a NOS nitrous big shot kit with a bottle warmer. car has been gutted and has only an aluminum seat with an 8 point roll bar. cowl hood and weld skinnies on the front. car has lots of scratches from my little nephews playing around it. it ran consistent 6.50s in the 1/8 mile with a 200 shot until the piston got hurt. the body is solid with no metal rotting at all. bigger fuel pump and 30lbs injectors, driveshaft loop and MT drag slicks. I haven't had current tags in about 7 years since it was always trailered. i hate to get rid of it but the family is growing and i cannot play with it anymore.

Ford Mustang SVT caught looking fierce on the 'Ring

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

The next-generation Ford Mustang SVT is one of the most anticipated performance cars of the moment. We've already seen it testing multiple times, but it has always been covered is some very heavy camouflage. However, Ford has just given us our best view yet of the new muscle car. According to our spy photographer, the Mustang was at the Nürburgring for high-speed testing, which meant that the Blue Oval had to remove most of the heavy obfuscation that the SVT has worn previously.
The stylish, more revealing camo makes picking out some of the more interesting details about the SVT rather easy. Starting from the front, there is the big hood scoop to feed cold air to its still mysterious engine. You can also immediately make out the model's new grille and lower front air dam. It has a vertical piece running from the bottom of the hood all the way to the ground. The aggressive styling almost gives the 'Stang the look of two fangs ready to bite down. The hood seam is even taped off here, which shows us its outline.
Around the side, it appears that the front and rear fenders are wider than stock, and the sills are certainly much larger. You can also just make out the SVT's bigger brakes behind its black wheels with a polished lip. Finally, at the rear, things appear mostly stock other than the diffuser that the exhaust outlets nestle into.

Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.

Feds looking into Ford Explorer exhaust leak complaints

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

There may be a burgeoning problem with exhaust leaks in the 2011-2014 model year Ford Explorer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is examining multiple complaints of a gasoline smell in the cabin of these SUVs. However, the exact cause of this problem is still unknown.
"The agency is reviewing all available data and will take appropriate action as warranted," said a NHTSA spokesperson in an email to Automotive News. Owners seem to generally complain on the regulator's website of the smell entering the cabin through the air vents. At this time, the government organization has not yet opened an official investigation into the problem, though. When it does begin inspecting vehicles, NHTSA posts a detailed breakdown of its public data online.
Similar problems have been reported about the Explorer in the past, though. In 2013, Ford issued a recall for the 2013 model year of the SUV due to a fuel leak that could cause drivers to smell a gasoline odor and repaired them again later for another possible leak. In response to Autoblog's questions, Ford responded via email: "We are not aware of a NHTSA investigation. We are currently reviewing the case and in the event that any action is required, we will address it promptly."
