hello up for bid is a 1991 mustang lx coupe ,notchback whatever you want to call it . 86xxx miles .I had a great running motor in an 87 mustang gt  that was rusted out and was looking for a nice car to put it in . this car already had a ton of great aftermarket parts on it when I got it  . I bought it from a fellow who had done a bunch of work on it but it was in pieces . it had the aftermarket tubular k member installed and front tubular a-arms and coil over kit, pbr front brake calipers and sn95 spindles . it also had a turbo couple rear end installed in it with rear disc brakes with a 93 cobra master cylinder and rear disc conversion done inside the proportioning valve . it has aftermarket rear axles in it they look like mosers but cant be positive [see pics] I also had 4.10 gears professionally installed as well.  when I got it the original short block was in the car but the top end was disassembled.  . the motor I had for it is an early 70s 302 flat tappet hydraulic cam motor .its got a lunati voodoo camshaft in it early 302 heads that have had some port work done to them roller rockers ,good pushrods and its topped off with a holley systemax intake , 76 mm c&l mass air meter and tube, and large throttle valve and 24 lb injectors. the car was originally an aod automatic car which was in it when I got it . I removed it and installed a 5 speed . I had a complete 5 speed car for parts. including the a9l computer  .the only think I didn't have was the neutral safety switch and the boot for the shifter it also has a Lakewood blowproof bellhousing ,firewall adjuster and billet quadrant on the clutch pedal . it has shorty tube headers and an off road h pipe. It has a brand new flowmaster American thunder cat back system on it as well . It has jegs aluminum one piece drag lite look alike wheels on it I bought new .almost new firestone f560s on the front and bf Goodrich drag radials on the back. the interior is red , it shows the signs of normal ware but is in pretty good shape. the body of the car is very solid it has some rust starting on the bottom of the doors as normal and a little on the rockers but not bad at all .it has an ho fibertrends 1" fiberglass cowl hood on it and a glass trunk lid .it has had the battery moved to the back .it needs a battery box but the battery has been crudely mounted . there is plenty of extra cable in the back for a disconnect switch on the rear of the car . Ive never plated or insured this car my kids are getting bigger and into 4-h and keeping me busy . Ive only driven the car on the road once and that was just down to the first road and back . the car starts runs fantastic .im sure it will have a few bugs to work out of it as all project cars do . I have no idea why the car wouldn't make it to wherever , but I would plan to trailer it if you have to go very far I have started it up often and kept a fresh battery in it . you are welcome to come look at the car and drive it around my barn lot but absolutely no joy rides , no pushy gilt trips . im not going to plate and insure it for someone elses recreation .I live on a very heavily patrolled US highway and im not bailing it out of impound so someone can see how long of a burnout it will do , all the gauges work exept for the gas gauge it reads about 5/8 of a tank all the time ,not sure whats wrong. the front fenders hood and trunk lid have been spray painted with a can . the car needs a paint job to be nice thanks for looking , please email call or text 765-918-8650 the original shortblock will be made available to the buyer if he is interested

please understand I have owned this car since 2008 and I did most of the work on this car shortly after that time . im sorry but Ive slept and drank alot of beer since then I may not remember every detail ,every nut screw and bolt on the car I have taken many pictures and can provide more if necessary , this is a very nice well built car with tons of great parts on it   GOOD LUCK!!

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

Why Ford's Alan Mulally would be right for Microsoft, or any company

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

That Mulally was seriously being considered says a great deal about Microsoft and Mulally.
It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
