I am selling my 1993 Ford Mustang GT 5.0l. This is an excellent project that needs to find a Ford Enthusiasts garage like myself. When I bought it, it had been sitting in a garage since 2002. That being said, any classic car guy knows there's a lot of work to be done. I started by re-sealing the entire upper half of the motor with fel-pro gaskets and replacing every hose( 5 total) with quality Gates equivalents. After all the work was done I went ahead and put an Alternator, serpentine belt, thermostat, battery, egr and idle air control sensors. The engine has no issues running cool and smooth now. Although the clutch was good I didn't like the stiffness to it so I purchased a Zoom kit. This included a throughout bearing, pressure plate, pilot bearing, clutch, and a flywheel. I try to be as detailed as possible and not have to do things twice so all new upper and lower seals were used to re-seal the trans to interior area. That keeps the road noise out. I finished off the job with a Steeda aluminum quadrant, billet aluminum firewall adjuster, and new Ford racing cable. Now shifting is plush for me, yet fully adjustable for anybody to set it the way they like it without having to get underneath the car. I also put a brand new set of Z rated BFgoodrich replica tires which are the stock size from the door tag. The car is all factory EXCEPT a CARB legal K&N air filter, weld in Flowmaster exhaust, hurst shifter, Pioneer head unit, and the shifter knob is from a later model Mustang.

I have enjoyed driving it to work everyday day without any problems in 115 degree weather for the past month. In my opinion the interior is a 8.5 of 10 for being 20 years old. All switches and gauges are working great, no missing panels or holes in the seats, no hard signs of wear and tear. The only part missing is the vent angle adjuster on each of the A/C vents.

The exterior is were most of the wear and tear happened over the last 20 years. Although the paint is still glossy there are many blemishes from it sitting in the garage and sun unprotected. The GT body parts are fading just the same as all other mustangs. All the panels align nicely and the hatch and doors shut very good. The main thing I would like to point out is that there is a large dent on the driver door just were it meets the front fender. A body shop told me the body work was no problem, but the cost will vary depending on your desire of quality of the final product. The paint is original and shiny so I passed until I could afford a paint job this car deserves.

Some things still need to be done but I will not be investing more money. The A/C pump needs a new clutch and the system needs to be flushed and refilled with freon. The shocks need to be replaced as well, there is many options out there so I will leave that to the new owner. The last thing would be the brakes, the car stops quick and firm, but they haven't been serviced and I would definitely recommend general maintenance on them. Other then that she is solid and you can trust her. It will not leak a drop of oil anywhere on your driveway.

I got it to pass smog however it failed a vapor test on the first try. This was due to a bad gas tank seal that goes between the filler neck and the side of the tank. I ordered replacement parts and installed them. The next day the car passed smog no problem, this will be valid for the next 30 days.

This is a excellent opportunity to get a better then average starting point on a Fox Mustang. This can easily be finished to your taste and desired mechanical ability. Or you could drive it around the way it is. Its still very fast and capable, but there are some very nice mods offered by many aftermarket companies. If you have any specific questions or concerns please ask me. Only bid if you intend to buy. I will accept Paypal but the buyer must pay the fee. A deposit is due immediately, if you have less then 10 feed back please message me before you bid. The sale will be final, there is no warranty on this 1993. You will be responsible for shipping but I will cooperate with any shipping company you choose and help them with the transfer the best I can.

Good luck bidding on this rust free, very complete 1993 Stang. Thanks to all for your interest.

First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost

Fri, 09 May 2014

I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.

How and why Ford is rolling out Vignale in Europe

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

We know that Ford is positioning the new, upscale Vignale brand in Europe to fill a niche market of customers who want a bit more luxury, a lot more service and the same reliability and dependability that a non-Vignale Ford offers. But so far, we've been in the dark regarding how the Blue Oval will sell Vignale vehicles, how many of them will be created, and what the new sub-brand has in store for the future.
Gaetano Thorel, Ford's European marketing head, recently was interviewed by Automotive News and shared details about Ford Vignale. Thorel says, "The Vignale trim line will be priced like an ST model but attract a completely different type of customer." Specifically, he says it will attract customers in the upper 15 percent of the price band who don't want a performance-oriented ST model. He adds that Vignale cars will be about 10 percent more expensive than Titanium-trim cars. About 500 of Ford's European dealers will sell Vignale Fords, Thorel says, "in areas that make sense." The automaker expects 10 percent of its European sales to be Vignale cars, which equates to about 5 percent of its global sales. When asked if there are any other Vignale models planned beyond the Mondeo, Thorel said, "There is nothing written in stone yet."
