This 2000 Ford Mustang is being sold for parts or to be fixed.  It began cutting out 4 weeks ago when I placed it in reverse and drive.  After speaking with my mechanic, he told me that most likely that is a transmission issue, but to get the car home, I could unplug something (forgot the name) and most likely I would be able to get the car to go in gear and get it home.  It worked and I did get the car home.  The car has been sitting since then.  Very low mileage for its age.  ONLY 101,998.5 MILES.

We decided now to just sell the car instead of fixing it ourselves because we have been talking for a while about getting another 4 door vehicle for the family.

List of car problems that we know of:

1. Car starts, but cuts out when I change gears and the check engine soon light began appearing the day this started happening.

2. The keyless entry is lost, but the alarm still works.

3. The front right fender has a crack (see picture).

4. There is a tear on the drivers side seat (see picture).

5. The drivers door inside frame is loose (see picture).

6.  Cassette player doesn't work

7.  A little spot between crack of door with rust (see picture).

GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE CAR

1.  VERY LOW MILEAGE AT 101,998.5 MILES.

2.  TIRES STILL LOOK PRETTY GOOD

3.  CD PLAYER STILL WORKS

4.  STILL STARTS

5.  NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT and NO TICKETS

6.  CLEAN TITLE

7.  ONLY 2 OWNERS (THE OTHER OWNER WAS A FAMILY MEMBER.)

8.  FRONT BRAKE WORK WAS DONE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO.

FULL PAYMENT IS DUE THROUGH PAYPAL IN 48 HOURS after the transaction is completed.  The car is sold AS IS.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.

China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.
