An absolute beautiful example of the 2005 Roush Mustang GT. One of 302 Stage 1 cars built in 200, only 29 of which
were red and very few (less than 10) offered the tan/red interior. This is a Stage 1 car that has been modified
with a ton of Roush specific parts, all factory installed by a Ford dealer. The following items
have been added to the car - I may forget a few but will do my best with the list. Roush M90 Supercharger, the
same supercharger on the Stage 3 and Roush 427's, with a Steeda cold air intake. The supercharger also has the
2.57 supercharger pulley and the billet 90MM pulley that pushes the HP to approx. 500 HP at the flywheel. I have
added the Roush Stage 2 suspension (same as the 427), but have also added the Roush wheel hop reduction kit, the
Roush billet lower control arms and the relocation brackets, a Granitelli Motorsports panhard bar, a strut tower
brace, the Roush Extreme exhaust system, the Roush shifter, and Roush Sill Plates. I have also added stainless
steel brake lines and Hawk HPS brake pad to increase the stopping power. I have also added custom Roush side
stripes down the side and grill protection for the inter-cooler.
The car has been signed by Jack Roush in 4 separate places - the passenger sun visor, the passenger side air bag,
the plenum tube on the cold air intake and the radiator shroud. The car handles like a dream, absolutely nothing
wrong with the car. I don't get to enjoy the car like I would want to, or I would just keep it. I am not selling
this as a Stage 3 car, please understand, this is a modified Stage 1 car - I do have all the parts that came off of
the car so if you ever wanted to convert it back to the Stage 1 you easily could. All the extra parts, the SCT
programmer, and the spark plug tool all come with the car. If you have any question please feel free to ask. You
will not be disappointed with this car!

2014 Ford Cobra Jet announced with new colors, parachute mount

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

Ford's drag-strip-ready Mustang Cobra Jet is back for 2014, and it's sporting a few changes to make it even better - both in competition and while sitting still. Rolling off the assembly line ready for duty in the NHRA Stock or Super Stock classes, production of the 2014 Cobra Jet is limited to just 50 units.
Racing upgrades for 2014 include the addition of a new three-speed transmission and a parachute mount, and while these will make the car better in the quarter mile, the Cobra Jet's new colors will make it look better tearing down the track. Buyers can now get their racecars painted up in Gotta Have-It Green or a custom, Cobra Jet-exclusive matte black hue. Ford and Ford Racing have already teamed up to make this an incredible factory drag racer with a full rollcage, massive Hoosier slicks, a race-tuned suspension setup and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Now, if only wheelie bars came standard...
Unlike the confusing third-party ordering system announced for the COPO Camaro, all you need to snatch up a 2014 Cobra Jet is $97,990 and good timing (as the cars will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis). Ordering opens up next month with production commencing in July. Check out the press release below.

GM readying aluminum-body fullsize pickups

Wed, 19 Feb 2014

Ford's extensive use of aluminum in its 2015 F-150 is a big deal. A really big deal. Big enough, in fact, that General Motors is reportedly changing its fullsize pickup strategy. According to The Wall Street Journal, The General has locked in partnerships with Alcoa Inc. and Novelis Inc. - companies that will supply aluminum for the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
"Ford's introduction of the 2015 F-150 pickup truck was a game changer, and it's the first, not the last, conversion of this type," Novelis spokesperson Charles Belbin told the Journal. The switch to aluminum has allowed Ford to shave roughly 700 pounds off its fullsize truck's curb weight. And while official mileage ratings have not been announced, the weight loss should go a long way for improving efficiency, especially when combined other efficiency-minded improvements including better aerodynamics and new, turbocharged V6 engines.
Of course, aluminum-bodied cars are nothing new. But extensive use of aluminum in a major, best-selling product like the Ford F-150 is expected to kick off widespread use of this weight-saving material as availability rises and cost decreases. The WSJ reports that GM had originally explored the idea of moving to aluminum pickups back in 2008, but abandoned the idea due to cost concerns amid economic woes.

Ford blamed in drug mule lawsuit

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

If a college student is caught smuggling drugs across the border, one might think the kid got what was coming to him. But when a Mexican student at the University of Texas in El Paso was caught by Border Patrol agents with duffel bags filled with marijuana in his trunk, the man used a classic excuse: He claimed they weren't his.
While a claim like that is almost unbelievable, Ricardo Magallanes, the student, is now suing Ford for handling its vehicles' key codes negligently enough to allow drug smugglers to break into his Ford Focus and stash the drugs, The Daily Caller reports. The twist here is that four other people who lived in Juarez and worked in El Paso were involved in the same type of scheme - allegedly unwittingly, just like Magallanes - and all the cars were Fords except one model from General Motors. FBI agents also found an employee at a Dallas Ford dealership that had accessed the key codes to all four of the cannabis-stuffed Fords.
While we all may not own Fords, the case still causes us slight paranoia. We'll definitely be checking our trunks before we cross any more international borders.
